I'm going to another city next sunday for four weeks of education. There's really nothing to do there since I'm going to rent a room in a house so basically I'll just sleep there and go to school. I'm bringing an old laptop with me and hopefully I'll have some time to just relax with some BG2 (old laptop, basically BG or Fallout runs on it). I've played the game with most of the classes and I was thinking about making the oddest possible mp party. Not really sure what to do or which mods to put in. I usually just go with a fixpack, dungeon-be-gone and the mod that keeps party members from fighting, so I'll probably just go with that.

    I was thinking something like:

    Monk
    Beast Master
    Jester
    Wild Mage
    Avenger/Totemic Druid

Six party members would be nice, not a must-have.

Druid can cast find traps, Mage can cast Knock, Jester can pick-pocket. Would be nice with a thief though since that'll be alot of hassle. Never played Monk, but they can find/disarm traps right?

Wild Mage isn't that "odd", though it's hard to find an "odd" caster. Jester's the only one and he/she will only reach lvl 6 spells - not satisfying enough. Mayby Wizard Slayer 9/Mage to make it unorthodox. He'll fall behind alot though with a five or six man party.

    That'll have to do, it's late. :)

Monks can only find traps, but not disarm them.

Well, you could add an assassin with no points in stealth... Or a cleric/thief who spends most of her time backsmacking foes with a quarterstaff.

As you know, any party is playable, solo's have been done with every possible kit so you don't have to worry about party balance. Pick classes that you like or have never played with.

For example, I've never played a backstabbing thief (always liked swashbucklers), but now I have a fighter/thief in my IWD runthrough and I'm having a lot of fun backwacking skeletons.

Remove the mage for extra challenge. A jester as your only arcane caster is doable and the lack of high level spells makes for a fun game! Besides, you can always cast time stop from scrolls, should the need arise.
