This thread is for anyone to share thier unlucky experiences in the game. Be it untimely coincidence or plain bad luck, share it!!!

Here's one of mine: With Saerileth in my party, I travelled to the Druid Grove to battle Faldorn in the pit. All my items and armour were stripped and left outside the pit. Just as the battle commenced, SAERILETH WAS ABDUCTED BY THE DEMON. Lord Edorem appeared and teleported me away form Faldorn....

After the whole thing was over, I made my way back to the Grove. Since I had not defeated Faldorn yet, she was still in the pit waiting. I used Ctrl-r to enter it and fought her. Now here's the bad luck.......after the fight I discovered that all my items and armour were MISSING!!!!!!!!!!! I searched frantically but couldn't find them........as a result I lost all my stuff...:o

I'm not sure that counts as bad luck. Justice for including HER maybe, but not bad luck...

TuTu game, wild mage PC. Wounded badly by bandit arrows, retreating and casting a mirror image (poor man's stoneskin) to save my butt...BANG! Wild surge:COW which lands on my PC and chunkifies him into tiny pieces of meat. :wail:

Hmm, the one thing that stands out is probably when my party & Sorcerer main char were off to kill the Twisted rune. The fight starts off as usual after the usual buffage, however, I mispositioned my sorcerer for the usual time stop opening and a certain beholder manages to dispel resist fear from her. No big deal I think, she had the robe of venca+amulet of power, so wasn't counting on my time stop being interrupted.

However! Shangalar somehow managed to cast his symbol:fear JUST as time stop finished. Kind of anticlimatic having your "oh so powerful" sorcerer running around in fear for the entire time stop. Meh.

Other than that there's not that much I remember, the occational lightning bolt traps in BGtutu that bounce back and forth 7 times at the exact location of your main character also never ceases to make me go -.-

Not so much unlucky, but I remember the first time I played TOB. It wasn't until I left Saradush that I realized that, once you start TOB, you couldn't access the SOA areas anymore, and I had left all my extra equipment in a container outside the Copper Coronet. I was somewhat upset, to say the least.

    Been there...done that aswell. :D

When i played with a Sorcerer and left for Amkathran i found out i hat left the Staff of the Magi in a chest in the Planar Sphere, also the Shadow Dragon Armor for Amber. There was more stuff but those where minor things at that point in the game.

[IMG] It even comes up with a warning the first time you play the games :p

I can't really remember my last tragic event in the game. Only major problems I get are the odd chunky bugger who won't stay dead.

I had Jan in my party, equiped with the Cloak of Non-Detection and the Staff of the Magi. I never could find him after he left my party during his quest. He kept talking, but I couldn't target him to engage him in conversation.

    I eventually reloaded.

I know one of my luckiest moments getting a mass effect wild surge on spelltrap^^

That Ifrit always cast a fireball that hits themself and then start attacking you... never used ifirt and djinn afterward ever again.

That door you walk over in the sewers under copper coronet that petrefies your guys.. my highest count were 3 party members for one second carelessness.

...fighting an IA powered mage in a war of attrition, my 5 other guys hidden behind a corner, after dunno 15 minutes of melee defense whittling..yay cose to death, mage makes one wrong step sees one unbuffed party member .. triple abi dalzim contingency...all 5 dead...

or going way to highlevel to a random undead spawing point to find 5 liches waiting^^

A long time ago, I went into this old temple and there was this big room, and I wandered around with my pc, and there was this dragon...

That's when I learned how to explore with invis/thiefs.

    No, I didn't have the ward :(.

I'd like to shamelessly direct y'all to my BG1TuTu Wild Mage Survivors No-Reload Run.

The misfortune is rampant in that. I can remember Kagain getting hit by those @#$%s outside Nashkel Mines and Eldoth suffering a double critical hit from some random bandits, in particular. There's just too many horrible memories - Viconia getting poisoned by a spider (CLW is too slow!), Xan getting struck down by an ankheg, Tiax biting the dust in the Bandit Camp...

    http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=46728

Some of my more unfortunate stories involve having too low a reputation and being forced to fight guards and worse thieves (at the docks) on every step of my journey. That's the price you pay for having fun, I guess.
