This is a pretty silly question but anyway,

I'm going to start a new game as a female Elf, but im gonna pretend she is drow by making her skin black and making her portrait that of Viccy's, i also want Viccy in my party, what will her portrait be when i pick her up? The one from the original BG??? Or something else...?

 

I think it's a random choice from the other female portraits. IIRC when I created a drow-like character, I got Faldorn's portrait for Viconia.

 

Strange, I thought that characters from original BG use their old portraits, if you take his/her BG2 portrait.

 

The one time I used Viccy's portrait, when I picked her up she did indeed have her old BGI portrain instead, so I figured that's what they all did too. Could've been the luck of the random draw, I suppose.

 

I can recommend you to download the IWD + IWD2 portrait packs, so you can use them instead. There are atleast a couple of drow there.

 

Believe it or not, this is actually controlled by a 2da file and is not random. Viconia should have her BG1 portrait if the BG2 portrait is in use.

edit: I've also done a lovely alternative Viconia if you're interested (tongue firmly in cheek).

 

I think you only get the BGI portrait if it's available. For instance, there are BGI portaits of Imoen, Jaheira, and Minsc, but not of Viconia.

 

Viconia's BG1 portrait is included in the BG2 install; it's one of the available portraits at character creation for female characters.

 

CamDawg is right. Keep in mind that Viconia's BG1 portrait looked nothing like a Drow, so that may be confusing you. But her BG1 portrait is definitely included.

Rightio, Viccy's BG1 portrait is quite ugly so i think i will d/l those IWD ones,

Where can you DL the IWD portraits?

 

Do a Google search for BG2 Portraits. Just about every portrait site has them.

 

All I'll say about those portriats (the viccy one) is Imoen has been loose at them or they were all assaulted by pink kindergarteners pastels

 

Which one is the Viccy BG1 portrait? Since you guys say she doesn't look like a Drow, is it the last one in the line of female portraits?

 

@omnigodly: Viccy's BG1 portrait is a kinda dark-skinned (not black) woman holding her hands together above her head.
