[IMG] I'm reinstalling BG2 and I have a few questions about mods. I used to have a lot (then my computer crashed) but that was so long ago.

    1) I don't have TOB because I can't find the disk. Is this a problem?

    2) I know one mod you have to install first, I think the Weidu mod. What's the newest version of that?

    3) Is there a mod that lets you light up objects with the Tab key like when you have TOB?

    4) Did they ever make the Minsc romance? I bet that would be funny as hell.

    5) What mods would you recommend as a sort of 'I can't live without' necessity?

edit: turns out I lost the CD key >< Can I call someone for help with that?

    1) No, not as long as you make sure that said mod doesn't require you to have ToB (check the documentation).

    2) WeiDU is not a mod but a script compiler et al. basically just a prog which lets you install the mods.

    3) I don't think so, no.

    4) I've never heard of a Minsc Romance mod and can't find it on any modlists so my bet would be no.

    5) Well you for sure want either the Baldurdash fixpack or the BG2 fixpack. Other than that there's not really any 'essential' mods. Check out the modlist here on SP and go for what you like.

    6) Erhm, to my knowledge Baldur's Gate 2 requires no CD-Key?

That would explain why I couldn't find one.... I must have been thinking of Neverwinter Nights >< I spent half an hour looking for something that doesn't fecking exist! And I think the Minsc romance was cut short due to lack of time by the creator. Pity, would have been fun. Thank you, I'll start downloading!

edit: new question. It's been a really long time and I have a lousy memory. Do I have to install Weidu to use Weidu mods?

Also, anyone remember an Imoen replacement portrait where she's actually smiling? It was a big smile :) I went to look at portrait portal but apparently that site no longer exists :(

Nope, all WeiDU mods come packed with the WeiDU isntaller, so you don't have to install anything aside from the actual mods :).

Yay! Now, do I have to install some mods first? I have this vague memory of having to do that. I got the Ease of Use and the SPfixpack among other less important ones (Banter pack, etc)

Check the mods readme for instructions on recommended install order. Usually if a mod is known to have compatibility problems with other mods if installed before or after another it then it will be stated in the documentation. I can't on top of my head remember which mods go where in the order.
