BG2 "Empty" items. (Editing question)

    When using editing/creating tools for things like items and spells, is there a list of items which are unimportant to the actual game? E.G. in the format of, say SWORD15, etc? Examples would be say, a broken sword you never get to use, a useless item. I only ask because I'm working on an infinity engine mod, but do not want to damage the playability of the game in doing so.

    Because they would not work when playing LAN games with others.

    [​IMG] You'd have to send a copy to friends anyway to get them to work properly over LAN, whether it uses the same name or not.

    Same reason you're supposed to have identical installations, patches and setups when playing anyone over multiplayer. You get problems, usually with the strings used in game.

    If you're just over an upper edge you're more likely to get further using cheats instead, if you're interested in making an interesting mod, may as well make one that's unique, certain not to clash with other mods and share it with your friends.
