Stat enhancement tomes

    I dont know if theres already a thread on this or a better place to ask it so i apologise if there is....but does anybody kno the locations of all the books in the game that permenantly enhance ur stats? tbh its been like 6 yrs since i played baldurs gate and i honestly cannot remember where to find these dam books. if sumbody could tell me or even just point me in the right direction of where to look it would be greatly appreciated! i think im right in saying theres at least 3 different ones but i'll be damned if i can remember where they are. any help would be appreciated thank u!

    also, about the strength stat - is it better to have 18/00 or 19? becoz i read sumwhere that the 18/** stats are designed for fightters to hit better u seem to loose it if u go above 18. bit confusing!

    EDIT: sorry the title should say tomes not books....yes it has actually been that long since i played it! shame on me :o

    p.s. completely off topic - has anybody else here seen unforgotten realms? if not search for it on google and go the link that takes u to the escapist magazine website. its so funny! may be old news to u guys but i only found it last week and its brilliant.

    Charisma~ Cave at the Gnoll Fort.

    Constitution~ Cave in lighthouse area. (Beware the Flesh Golems that need +1 weapons to hit)

    Dexterity~ Barrel in Black Lilly's store in the Thieves Guild. (chapter 5-BG city)

    Intelligence~ Bookcase on the 5th floor of Ramazith's Tower. (chapter 5-BG city)

    Strength~ In a trapped crypt just past the "spider room" in the Candlekeep Catacombs. (chapter 6)

    There are three wisdom tomes if you have TotSC installed:

    1) Male Cleric in the Lady's Hall/Temple of Tymora. (chapter 5-Bg city)

    2) Trapped crypt on the lower level 1 of the Candlekeep Catacombs. (chapter 6)

    If you have TotSC:

    3) Trapped altar in a small chapel on the third "interior" upper level of Durlag's Tower.

    19 has +3 to hit, +7 damage. This is also called Hill Giant Strength.

    18/00 has +3 to hit, +6 damage. This is also called Ogre Strength.

    Bigger is better with strength.

    thanx for the help guys! sorry i shud've looked abit further into the hints and tips bit before posting this but oh well! unfortunately id already wasted time checking other sites and cudnt find anything so just went ahead and posted in frustration. thanx for the info on the strength stat aswell, i finally understand wot those extra numbers after all these yrs!

    forgot how much i love this game :grin:
