But people like them do deserve to get their genitals sliced off.

The closest I ever got to a paladin was having Adjantis in my party in BGI, and he pissed me off thoroughly.
I also don't really like the humourless selfrighteousness, which some of the paladin friends show.

E.g. you can read 'smite evil, .......' in a lot of good guy posts. No problem, even to the baddies, but if ever a post goes against the goodies, they seem to take it very personally.

    Lack of real style!

Sorl: I disagree. I have joked about smiting good characters before. My problem lies with those who think continueos vulgarity is funny. I mean like Ganz and now like I am saying, GET OVER IT. Joke all ya want, but there comes a point between being funny and just being sick/rude. Like Shura, who shows me nothing but issues. :p

Can't we all just get along??!?!? LOL! :D I think this just goes to show that you can't have good without evil! Life wouldn't be fun if everyone acted the same way!

I'm not a paladin in real life...I just play one in this game... :) It would be much too hard of a standard to live up to...Not to mention the whole chastity thing!

Paladins are a wikked class depending on the player themself. If a paladin is used right they can be flipping devastating, especially against the Undead. You should try arming these guys with "Daystar" and pit him agaisnt some Vamps... well fun.

In my opinion Dual Classing a Fighter into a Cleric is a much better option. When Anomen gets to high levels he is flipping amazing... and can get some much higher level priest spells than any Paladin!!!

Yesterday I did the compound. Most of my characters leveled up to 8 Vicci to 9 and my sorc to 10. So it was partytime. The lonely hearts club was around the courner and so we decided to show up and celebrate together with the paladins; we even had a mug of beer with us!

But the greetings we got was rather stiff:
    "Get out, you viper!".
Ok we were still wrangled and blood covered from the fight (Vicci keeps tellimg me theres a bad smell in every room we go, so I'm starting to believe it's one of us, is there a public bath in Athkatla??), but being a good host is one of the absolute essentials to knighthood, and it wasn't as if we had cloudfarted the whole building.

Xzar may have been less choicy with his words but I'm certain he wouldn't have refused a good party.
This 'we don't play with the kids from the other side of town' attitude is typical for people who mix up living an exclusive elite standard with arrogant segregation and is found not with NPC and player -paladins.

BTW the compound was a real disappointment to me. Fromthe postings I thought I could wind some nice weapons&armor. I need some badly: My sorc is protected by his Harpers amulet and wielding a wooden stick +0.
What I found was a katana some big swords and other things none of us could wield.
(Except Minsc, but he's leaving soon; at the compound he blindly charged into the trap Jan was disarming and cost me a thrid try.)

Hey, Sir Bel, who said anything about chastity? Keldorn's married with 2 kids! O.K. so one of them keeps telling him he's a stranger - but that's cos he's a workaholic. With his almost unlimited protect-from-evils, his true seeing to counter all those invisible mages and his dispel magic to restore confused/held members he's a valuable addition.

[IMG] Shura, is your last name Bobbit by chance???

You sure seem fixated on anatomy under the belt. Just wondering.

I suggest you call Love Line some night. Perhaps Dr. Drew can help you with some of your sausage slicing issues.

Roleplaying-wise, my sorc hates paladins/clerics. They are facists that lead a life that they think is righteous, and good doing when it is in fact not. If they were really the good paladin they are, they wouldn't be spending those 1000's on armor for themselves, they'd be donating it to the poor.

Otherwise, the reason I don't like most of them is well... Intelligence was never one of there prime requesites, if you catch my drift.

Yeah, same case with doctors nowadays, SoulFly. With a "noble" profession that makes so much money, you'd think that they would donate it to the poor rather than drive around in those fancy cars. By the same reasoning, doctors should be the first to roll up their sleeves and say, "You need blood? Hey, take as much as you want. Don't mind me even if I collapse, that's why I'm a doctor."
    :D

Doctors dont claim to be righteous defenders of the weak.
