How in the hell do I beat that bitch Faldorn, Cernd can't even hit her and as soon Jaheira hits her, she regenerates.

hang on, are they the ones that go apeshit on you if you don't cast protection from evil, or is that only demons/fiends?

Daemons and fiends do attack you whithout protection from evil, but the elementals have to be controlled by the summoner after their summoning to be under your control

 

I thought it was going to be really tuff when we (Jaheira) went to the pit and had no weapons but the staff and spells. So it was kind of hit or miss defense with nothing seeming to work especially well. Then Faldorn hit me with the insect plague and I got smashed.

Always a fast learner, next time I hit Faldorn with the insects first. Then changed to bear and cleaned her clock good. She hardly even had a chance to change her grin to a frown.

 

my avenger casted chromatic orb on her and she died instantly with the special ability. i was falling out of my chair laughing. it was so great to see that proud, o-so-confident shadow druid be killed in one swift arcane gesture.

 

I also didn't have problems with Faldorn, just shapeshift Cernd into werewolf, haste him and be ready for the fight!

 

Anyone tired killing all of them in direct combat?
My almighty Kensai mage fell after killing all the druids except Faldorn. What the hell?
That bitch can soak up 6 fireballs, 8 magic missiles, 5 acid arrows and 4 cloud kills. Damn

 

I simply had Jahira turn into a bear, she beat Faldorn after only one reload.

 

An excellent way is to summon a nymph and let her attack as well.
Summon a magical weapon for your own attacks.
Get the nymph to do group heal on you.
I did this as on of my first quests and it took me about 20 reloads before I came up with this and it works every time.

 

I had Cernd fail twice with regular spell fighting, he got her down to almost dead but was allways killed by the panther (fresh hit-points). turing to werewolf didn't help.
Jaheira succeeded immediatly with a nymph helping. Cernd later tried that too and also succeeded.

 

Insect plague and have her attack (she does have the fighter bonuses you know)

 

I think it's only the strongholds that have this problem.
Store everything at the stronghold ONCE YOU GET IT as they are probably the safest but if you have Nalia's it is just too far to walk to drop items.

Weird outcome in druid duel.

Ok I'm bringing an old thread back to life here.. I tried to search the treads for my question, but no luck.

Anyway, my party was cruising through the grove, having a jolly good time smashing trolls and shadow druids to left and right. Then we came across Faldorn, no biggie. We recruited Cernd for the task since he convienently stood waiting outside the Faldorn's HQ.

Turned him into to a werewolf, doped him up with oil of speed and of he went and challanged Faldorn. Entered the pit and beat her to to near death, out came the panter, once again he beat her to near deth. THEN the strangest thing happend, Faldorn goes unconscious. What the F*** never happend to me before, she still has red circle around here, but Cernd refuses to hit her. A while later Faldorn regain conscious, start hitting Cernd, he nock her down again, unconscious. Guess what, a little later she bounces back up again, Cernd nocks her down..... This just doesn't end.

Has anyone come across this problem ? The only mod I have installed is
Level1NPC.

 

I've not seen it happen with Faldorn, but it has happened when fighting other spellcasters. It sounds like Cernd got hit with dispel magic. Instead of using claws, he's now using normal fists. The solution is to knock Faldorn out, then use the staff to finish her off. Turn back into a human if necessary, although if you were hit with dispel that shouldn't be necessary. You should automatically hit if she's unconscious and you only need to do 1 damage, so Cernd's low stats aren't a problem.

Just realized I should explain WHY getting hit with dispel magic matters.

There is a bug that the claws given by the werewolf shapeshift can be dispelled by dispel magic. This can be exploited once you have good weapons to give Cernd any weapon you want, although it hurts you in the early game when you haven't acquired good weapons he's proficient in. I don't feel that guilty about it as I don't see much reason why a werewolf in hybrid form can't use normal weapons.

If Faldorn had used dispel magic on a shapeshifted Cernd, then there is a chance he lost his claws and is punching with fists like he would when untransformed. You should be able to give him the staff and use it with the werewolf stats, even if the normal staff is inferior to his claws.
