I just found this place again, after having been away for a few years (because I lost myself so completely in the Oblivion world that I thought I would never surface again :)). Decided I needed to post to the forum again in sheer joy of beeing back, this time with a brand new copy of Dragon Age in my hands.

Wonder if I still have an avatar....? (it used to be a monster, and later, a gem...) ;)

Please, please do this. Video the result, straight on YouTube.

Last time I went to hospital, I was there for 4 days, and had copious amounts of medication and painkillers. Thank the lawd the NHS treats you for free :D

I doubt you get any health service for free, just a lot cheaper than say in the US. Here we need to pay for basic and extended health insurance every month to get decent coverage. Of course, depending on your status, someone else might pay it for you (like the state if you're a student, or an employer if you're employed full-time), but otherwise you need to foot the monthly bills on your own.

This ticking time is about to explode. If I had a sledgehammer in my hands, I'd be whirlwhinding all around this [expletive] piece of trash of a sorry excuse of a flat. And if anyone happened to be caught in my path... I wouldn't care, as a matter of fact I'd probably be thrilled if it would be the case. Just goes to show just how badly pissed off I am. I think it's triple-time for a good dose of chilling down. I'm so freaking pissed off I wouldn't be surprised to see it having no effect whatsoever.

*EDIT* It worked. Too bad I didn't thought of getting the Slow Cow sleep treatment... that would've knocked me down a couple of notches and get some F'N sleep.

Apparently I formulated a regular expression of doom, because every time I try to use it, Komodo Edit freezes. It parses, though, so that shouldn't happen. Or maybe it's the amount of data. Anyway, I'll have to find a workaround, so off I go ...

NHS is free for everyone, covered by taxpayers money you don't have to foot any bills unless you go privately or get a prescription and aren't covered by the extensive extenuating circumstances.

I wish I had checked this thread again last night and seen these replies! He ended up coming back yesterday instead of staying at his girlfriend's place, so we played through part of the campaign together anyway.

He pre-ordered it from Amazon and was raging through the week that it hadn't arrived yet. Had I put a ransom note in, it would have been absolutely hilarious. And then he would have started hitting me.

Not sure what all the hype is about CodMW2... I love FPS, but every CoD game I have played has sucked major donkey [objects below the torso, which, on an animal of this size are quite large, but I shall refrain from saying so as to keep this PG]. I guess I am just not sure of the appeal of CoD games.

"For a while, his left nostril felt like a bug had crawled in there. Or flown, like so many times while riding a bicycle against the wind through a late summer swarm. Soon it started to become a flaring sensation. He required a release, he wanted to let go, he needed to sneeze...

There was no release. All hope seemed lost...Then the sensation was gone. Perhaps the reason was the picking of the nasal hairs that he indulged in the day before. Who could tell...(and perhaps the nasal hairs weren't even his...)"

Oh, you people still pay...they just rape your wallet at tax time instead of upfront . :shake:

For those that don't know how the US Health Insurance Thingamajig works (for people who work and *aren't* illegal immigrants...). My employer offers health insurance. I joined the program. Every paycheck, they deduct my premium ($24 a check) from my pre-tax income. When I go to my normal doctor, I have to pay a $20 co-pay, Urgent Care is $75, and the ER is $150. Drugs cost $10 per prescription ($25 and up for the name brand stuff)...that gets you a 30 day supply.

The public health option can go suck an egg! :nolike:

That is true, over here if you're single and have an income you pay taxes (that's the only time when I resent being single). :p

Nevertheless all the imortant medical stuff is really cheap (and it gets even cheaper if you can afford extra health insurance). The good thing is that everybody can afford to go to hospital if they need to. Moreover, provided you have a prescription you don't pay for medicine.

Really? I haven't played the first three and I wasn't very impressed with CoD5, but I did enjoy CoD4. Were you unimpressed with the campaign, the multiplayer or both?

For anyone interested in MW2: we've completed the campaign now- pretty good overall. There were some fun high speed sequences, the return of some familiar faces and a large variety of weapons. On the other hand, the plot sometimes made us go 'wtf?' and it was short- only took 5 hours and we weren't trying to play very fast. Will give multiplayer a go soon.

:flaming:  :flaming: RRRRAAAAAAH! :flaming:  :flaming: I just had just gotten a handle on the final boss in Borderlands and had him down to 30% when my game crashed to BSoD

Point is, the BSoD reported an IRQ conflict, and now that I read it, it eventually rang a bell. I have an ATI 4870 card that has a sound chip. Because I already have one, I disabled that device. When I last updated my graphics card driver that must have re-enabled the device, and - voilà - there we are: IRQ conflict between the two sound devices. It certainly explains the frequency of crashes I had of late.

And now I have an unfinished business to attend to ...

Wait till you need to use your insurance for something major..."Oh, you didn't tell us you were sick when you were five? You forgot? Sorry, no coverage for you!"

BTW, I hope you stay healthy for many years, Kit, and don't need to use it. :)

Nope! Right now, we have 100% coverage with no limit. Starting next year, we're going to have to pay 10% of major stuff (like open heart surgery) but it has a $2500 cap...so even if I get shot a dozen times, and I'm in a coma for a year, the most we'll have to pay is $2650*. And the best part is, I'd still get paid while in a coma thanks to short term/long term disability.

It sounds weird saying that you love an HMO...but when it's one of the very best in the US, that piece of mind is easy to love.

(* - The changes to our plan are thanks to a few a**holes I work with who are hypochondriacs and a few others who, In Darwin's Name, should have died decades ago! One dude just came back to work after his 4th major surgery this year...take a hint moron, God wants you dead! )
