[IMG] Nope, only on mind flayers and the like.

Oh wait, do you mean on other mind flayers? I don't think so. When I did the dungeon the mindflayers opened the doors then turned hostile again so without any special doors to open the mind flayers remain hostile.

[IMG] Oh, I was thinking the mid-flayer control collars from the mindflayer dungeon in the Underdark.

The ones in the planar prison can't be used on others. If you were to put them on others anyway theywould become servants of the Warden.

The ones from the mind flayer hive in the Underdark worked on other mind flayers for me... I used a few in the mind flayer dungeon in the sewers in Athkatla.

[IMG] There are two types of collars: The ones found in the planar prison used to control the prisoners and the collars found in the mind flayer hive in the underdark.
The collars from the planar prison can not be used on other characters or creatures. The mind flayer collars can be used on other mind flayers.

Also with the collars in the planar prison they will be destroyed if you break the controlling orb thingy.

and a good idea to complete planar prison with a low-level character will be to hide/make invisible, come up to that lesser tanar'ri, murder him quickly, take the orb and run away, hidden ( better use potions of invis, those air elementals wont let ye get away with the orb), and burn the orb

After ye destroy the orb, ye'll have a good army of thralls on yer side, and the mages will most likely hold/confuse/stun the warden, so ye'll find him quick to die

heh, me guess is that orcrist was a delicate elven blade, not a cleaver 8)

You gotta be kidding me captain. Those mages hardly touched the warden, by the time he got to me he was barely injured, those mages were cannon fodder for him and his, were they umber hulks? can't remember..

Just have 3 or 4 spells that remove spell protections memorized by different mages, and start casting them on the Warden as soon as you spot him. Worked like a charm for me. Of course, even without them, all other lizards and the Warden as a pure fighter were still pretty tough for me at the level I was...

[IMG] I found, after doing the quest twice in different ways, no matter what I did, the mages and other thrals were dead by the time I got there. The first time was understandable, as I used a lot of time casting and boosting my party and then dodging those gross things on the floor, but the second time I positioned Yoshimo right by the brazier, and the rest of my party was just out of range of the Warden, I had Yoshimo destroty the orb and then rushed the group. All the thralls died anyway, some of them mysteriously and instantly without any sign of having been attacked. The Warden was cake anyway, and so were hi Yuan-ti buddies. Then I got out of there. Maybe their deaths are scripted or something? Oh well, I'm done with it. Thanks for the replies.
