Hidden gong quest?

Playing yesterday, I casted restricted wish for I wanted to get the nice field plate +2. Well, I wasn´t asked if I wanted a "magical item" so I chose to say something like: "I want to experience an adventure like I´ve have never experienced before". The Djinn said "Oh, you will, Boss".

I found a note at my feet that led me to the bridge district to the mercenarys in the pub (those who invite you to kill them).
You have to retrieve a gong for their captain Dennis. I found out that I have to go to Umar hills to find it. I´m still in this quest.

However, I was quite surprised to find that quest for I always overlooked it. Anyone else found it? Or are there other hidden quests? Then please give a hint BUT PLEASE DON`T SPOIL or I´ll flame you

I just killed them. I'm with the lich nearby now...Too bad. I'll have to go WAY back to go there...Good Luck.

 

This game just gets better and better. I wonder just how many of these quests do get overlooked. I tend not to use the genie wish spell as you never know what your going to get. Perhaps I need to be more adventurous again. It's tricky at the moment because I feel over protective to the women in the group.

Anyway, I think I'll try the Genie quest when I get a chance - sounds fun.

 

That stinking Captain Dennis and his friends say that I should leave them be. So with this limited wish you can get a quest from them eeh? Well, I'll give it a try...
I don't know about other quests though, maybe there are a lot more, who knows (beside the designers )

 

I cast the limited wish also, having heard about the quest. The option wasn't there. Do I need the collector's edition or something?

Also, in the Underdark, in the sphere w/ the trapped souls, I found one Gont of Riativan who started babbling about his party of mercenaries. When I talked to the mercenaries, nothing changed. Did I miss something?

 

There are actually two separate mercenary quests: One in Atkathla and the other one in the underdark.

For the restricted wish: I don´t expect that you need the collector´s edition. I think it´s just chance what options you have, maybe depending on the time in the game.... Just cast again later.

As for the underdark: Just go to the wizards-tower/ temple of Lolth-area of the map and you´ll find a guy to sell you a magical rope to enter the tower. Buy it and see yourself.

 

The detirmining factor in the Limited Wish Spell is the wisdom level of the caster.

low wisdom doesn't give you all the choices.

Ragusa. . . I've done Jerlaxl's tower in the drow city, but I don't understand what Gont of Riatavin has to do w/ it. He wan't one of the imprisoned mercenaries you go under the pretense to free. Gont was trapped in the same device as the deep gnome's son. It was hard to find the facet to free him. Very few pixels on the right side of the sphere.

 

Hmm, I didn´t solve the deep gnomes son quest , thanks for the hint - I just went inside the tower and killed this freaky lich in there. I´ll have to try out some things in the next time, I think.

Unfortunately I have to work hard for university the next weeks s o I have to set up strict "rules of engagement" for BG-2 (something like: Just start playing after finishing a particular problem for my essay - that should motivate me in both ways

 

Good luck @ University Ragusa. Unfortunately that tactic only serves to make my handwriting sloppy from writing too fast. It's cold turkey for me in a couple weeks.

 

I found potions of insight invaluable for that spell and bought a huge pile of them from the temple of Oghma and worked my way through all the one-time wishes.

 

I should see if I find stuff like that in a shop here in Cologne, perhaps in an asia store
