After uncovering the tanners hideous experiments, one of the items recovered is a letter about a meeting in the Umar hills. However in order to make that meeting one needs a book on the zhentarim. Any ideas where this book is ?

Speak to one of tne store keepers outside of the inn in the Umar Hills. (Which is outside of the city). I cannot remember how I got the location to appear on the map as it was long ago.

Save before speaking to them as you have to guess his name correctly or he disappears. I think he was the second from the right.

    Hope this helps.

The letter gives you the contact who is able to complete the human skin armour stitched by the tanner (BTW the armour is only usable by evil characters). It also tells you how to derive the true name of the contact in Imnesvale/Umar Hills from the alphabets in the name of the tanner's immediate boss, Vellin Dahn. IIRC, the contact designated as Peal (sp?) stands at the corner (I met him twice at night) where the three merchants can usually be found in the daytime. When you first talk to him, you have to buy the Book of Zhentarim from him to activate the code. Then reveal his true name. What you do afterwards is up to you.
If you are too lazy to work out his true name, scroll down below.
