    In which chapter?

If in the Prologue, it is worth 300 exp. See my solution here for tips.

If in Chapter 2 - I failed to find a use for it (hmm... maybe Zack could use it for desecrating??? :) )

[IMG] I heard that if you keep a dead cat and some other dead bodies on you till near the end of game, you can show them in dialogue to one of the "bosses" and he gets so freaked out he leaves and you don't have to fight him. There are a couple of posts about this on the official boards.

Yes, that's true. However, there is a decent chance that you will have killed this boss earlier in the game (I know I did). And there is a plethora of bodies around at that point, so there is no real need to carry it all over the place.

I suggest you follow Anson's advice when you talk to him about it. :D

You also get some pretty amusing dialogue in the prologue if you talk to the adventurers in the camp with it (this was an SoTW last week).

Ok, thread necromancy here but I am having the darndest time getting the cat XP from Firtha. I bring it to her and all, and ask if its hers, but never get any XP notification like on all the other quests. Am I missing a step? I checked on her before going into the warehouse, also talked to her son and all.

I know its only 300 total XP or so, but its been really bugging me.

    I hope this helps:

You have to go to the adventurers around the campfire in the palisades and talk to them with the cat. Near when you are able to leave, you ask how he got the mice out of the warehouse. Then one of them tells you that he grabbed a cat. You show him the cat then and then he comments on how weird you are for carrying a dead cat. After that, you go to Firtha and talk about the cat. In that dialogue, you mention who threw the cat into the warehouse. I said something in the order of the cat died happy.

OK, tried it again and got same results so this was my next course of action. Thanks for confirming it.

This is evidence to me just how much effort the game designers put into the Prologue compared to the rest of the game. The Prologue is chock full of these obscure dialogues and quest outcomes depending on who you talk to and in what order, whereas after this the game becomes somewhat more linear, aside from a few exceptions.

[IMG] I think it was a response to complaints of how tedious prologues were in other IE games they wanted to put more attention into it.

Also wanting to make you really want to save the town after you get to know the little social nuances.

Whether or not it worked for everyone is another tale ;)
