[IMG] I had to reload my computer software and with it Shadows of Amn and I have a question regarding the patches found on this website. I don't want to add any of the extensions until I beat the game. So I figure I've got a chance to start over fresh and I'm wondering what patches are best to use.

The ones I'm thinking about are...

    XP Cap remover
    Bottomless Bag of Holding

Are there any others that you guys would reccommend?

    Thanks,
    goat

[IMG] Forget about XP cap remover! It gets much too easy if you intend to take advantage of breaking the xp cap, especially so if you have a magic-user who can cast 9th level spells.

I recommend using the Azuredge fix - of course it's only relevant if you intend to use Azuredge (axe, LG or CG required).

Well I'm not sure about using axes as I'm still thinking about what to make up for a party...

main.... ranger elf with familiar lawful good
2nd..... assasin human (try something new)
3rd..... fighter or kensai (to be dualled)

the 3rd I'm not sure about as it would be nice to have magic in the future but I really want someone to pound the hell out of anything big or defend the ranger as he slay everything from afar.

Patches fix bugs, these aren't patches.

You don't really need a bottomless bag of holding.
Just don't put ammunition in there, and everything will fit.

Instead of the Azuredge fix I would install the entire sorcerer's fix pack.
Lots of annoying bugs are fixed by it.

Nowhere. That would be a cheat, not a patch. Daystar is enchanted+2 per design and it's not a bug.

I have a few pointers for you, goat:

    • Don't use the XP Cap Remover -- It doesn't make the game better, just easier...too easy
    • If you want a "real" mod, then I know a few that will rock your socks off. (By "real" I mean a mod that had a lot of time and skill put into it)
    • If you just want items, then I have a few items on my web site you can download...PM me for the site's address
    • And last of all...If you are tired of playing SoA or ToB, then a really cool total conversion mod is comming soon!
I hope that helps! If you want more info...just ask and I'll try to answer as best as I can. :rolling:
