[IMG] This is my first post here so I would like to say Hi to everybody.

I usually play strategy and tactical combat games and am rather weak in fact in RPG. However, the games by BlackIsle have caught my interest. BG2 is so far the best RPG I've played.

I would like to ask a question. (Hope you won't think it is too naive)

I have a lot of stuff gathered in my adventure and some of them I don't want to sell or trash. Can I place it in the city and rest assured that they will be there later on?

    Thx a lot.

    [IMG] Welcome aboard!

You can place stuff in just about any container in the city with a few exceptions. Essentially anyplace that changes state after an event (such as when Meavar's guildhouse changes hands) is a bad place. Most people choose a convenient barrel or chest somewhere where they go often. I chose the cabin I was given as a Ranger...

    Thx a lot.

Hummmm...but how'bout if I put items simply on the ground. Will someone steal them...probably, seems to have lost some stuff that I had left on the ground in a merchant house earlier on.

I'm playing archer, may be I should leave them in cabinets within the Ranger house like you.

Yep. Most stuff left on the ground will eventually disappear...

Don't you find running back and forth from the cabin to the city annoying? When I'm in the city, I want to stay in the city and keep items I'm not using in the city.

As a Barbarian, I've never gone back to my keep to use it at all. I can't stand having to travel back and forth everywhere. Once I'm done in an area, I'll never go back unless something comes up that I have to.

So far, since I've gotten the keep, all I did was save Nalia but by that time I had already completed all the outside wilderness areas and remained in the city.

I keep everything in the Waukeen Promenade District near the store keeps and in the temple.

    Syl...

[IMG] Nah, there's really no difference between going waaaaaay out to the cabin and staying in the city except game time (and the inevitable whining of Aerie that her feet are falling off :) ).

Besides, I'm an Archer; the city grates on my nerves! ;)

Did anyone else notice that Aerie gets tired much sooner than the rest of the party? Must be due to her low CON...

Welcome to you commoner ! (Kidding) I'm in the chapter 6 and I'm putting all my items in the chest up of the Adventurer's Mart since the beginning and nothing disapears. I think that's the best place since you have to go at the Adventurer's Mart frequently.

    Hope it will help...

I have a bard character and I have found it convient to leave items in the chest at the front of the playhouse (under Five Flagons Inn). Especially since I invariably have to go there when i get to town.

I also have placed items in a chest at Cromwells until I have all the pieces. Then when I get the last piece of an item I can just go there and get it forged.

I like to use a nifty little spot just above the entryway to the adventure mart. I looks like a symbol on the wall, but you can put things there. It must be a pretty damn big hole, cause I've put about 20 things in there and nothing has disappeared yet.

I'm an organizing freak, so I realy like the planar sphere. That thing has at least five or six containers in a short distance from each other, so I have one for scrolls, potions, weapons, arrows, and basic souvenire junk. However, before I got the sphere, I liked the upstairs of the Den of Seven Vails. Once you clear out the half dwarf hating scum, It has three chests. There are also some nice emply houses around the Adventurer's Mart, but I've heard depending on the quests and how you do them, sometimes people will show back up at home.

Oops, my first post has generated some discussion....nice!

Well, it may be a bit tedious to keep things in my ranger cabin but I think it make sense to do so to closely "role play" my custom character.
