    Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to easily spawn creatures (with)in the game? I know it was easy in the BG's as the spawn-creature console command worked, but I read it's not the case with IWD2.

What I need is a program like the "CreatureCreator" that can extract
creatures from IWD2 (will "nearinfinity" do?) and have the option to modify them; for example change if it's enemy or allied, and then somehow spawn them in the game. If it's possible to spawn them while I'm playing, with the console - then that's what I'm looking for. Otherwise, with a trigger perhaps?

I'd appreciate instructions (and options) on how to do so. Thanks for your help.

Go check the IWD2 FAQs (conveniently here at Sorcerer's), there's a few I know of that list the console commands. Spawning a creature should be in there, too.

I know there's a console command, but it seems it doesn't work.

See this topic for reference: http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=48983

Now this guy was playing "Icewind Gate 2" (BG2 conversion) so I don't know if that was the problem.

Could anyone test if this create creature command works? I don't have the game now so I can't.

I had tested it before, on IWD2 as well. I tried spawning stuff, but couldn't get it to work. I thought it wasn't important at the time, so I didn't think about it further.
Then the problem arose with the dream sequence in IWG2, and I really needed it to work then. I was properly motivated to find out how to activate the console command, but nobody knew... Right now, I assume this is a non-functional console command that was never working, and somehow nobody discovered it...:jawdrop:
Although it's possible that my mods disabled something, I'm pretty sure I also tried spawning creatures before I installed mods.

    Me again...

So the definite answer is no?

Is it really impossible to spawn creatures in Icewind Dale 2? :(

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not so quick. Takes time to recover from disappointment. :(

The weird thing is I cannot input *any* code. Yes, I checked the box for enabling cheats, but whenever I try to use a code it just says "nice try cheater" and nothing happens.

Seems I'll have to do it with scripting.. if only I knew how to. Is it possible to make a trigger or something to spawn certain monsters?
