    Hi all,

After years of disparaging comments about the Infinity Engine games, some discussion caused some tiny part of me to say "hey...try it again. Seriously. Maybe this time." And unlike the majority of my attempts to like games the second time around, this time it's actually worked. So I'm obsessively playing through these things.

I've been having a good time with Icewind Dale, until I got to chapter 5, level 9, and started the Heart of Winter expansion. But as soon as I got there, my scripts stopped working. My characters started just standing around, taking hits, without even fighting back. I'm not enough of a control freak to be willing to point my fighters in the right direction every time there's a kill in the chaos of a high-level battle, so I'm getting really frustrated with the game.

What's worse is that I loaded a save from before I started the expansion, and went back to the regular game, and it's still not working. I've changed my characters' script, downloaded new scripts to try, and they're still idiots who don't even fight back anymore.

I'm not using any mods, and I'm updated with the Trials of the Luremaster add-on/patch. Any ideas?

There's a button for enabling/disabling party AI. If AI is disabled scripts are ignored.

So that's what that button does, once I eventually found it. Well, happily that was easy to fix, but I have no idea why it got turned off in the first place. Annoying.

    Thank you!
