Keldorn and Viconia are... not fond... of one another. I would consider an alternate for one of them. I've never really taken Valygar, since I usually prefer Minsc or Keldorn as a tank. It's personal prefernce, though.

If you are a paladin, it seems that the likely one to drop is the other paladin, Keldorn. Having two rangers (Minsc and Valygar) is much easier to manage than two paladins, especially considering that Minsc is much more of a tank than Valygar and the latter can be used for stealth and fun backstabbing. The weapon proficiencies of Minsc and Valygar are complementary, while I don't know how you've decked out your PC.

Since you're a paladin, you'll probably take Carsomyr for yourself. Keldorn is definitely the one to drop. Even if you want Keldorn over Valygar, still drop him, unless you can live with Anomen being your cleric.

Well, since all of your other characters are "good" aligned you should probably remove Viconia. I'd give Keldorn the boot too, since, like everyone said there would be two Paladins and only one Holy Redeemer. It'd be kinda cool if you could use the Wave Blade or something like that. Halberds are so ignored.

Well, it is certainly possible to have two paladins in the group - I'm currently doing it - and in fact I have both Keldorn and an undead hunter. Since your party is good aligned, it makes sense to drop Viconia, only then you're without a cleric. If you are going to keep Minsc, and you're an undead hunter, you really don't need Keldorn, who would only serve as a third tank.

Well, i decided to drop Keldorn and keep Viconia while gaining Valygar. I gave Valygar the CF and a Katana +2, man that guys can lay down the law... I was looking at his attack roles and combined two handed damage was averaging 34...so cool :) ...that was against those annoying greater werewolf things...thanks for the advice all...

From a role-playing perspective it seems likely that a paladin would take the following group:

PC (AC:-8, Adjatha the Drinker, throwing axe)
    Keldorn (AC:-1, Holy Avenger, crossbow)
(Sir) Anomen (AC:-3, Mace of Disruption +2, slingshot - the one with strength enhacement)
Airee (romance)(AC:-6, Hammer of thunderbolts, +2 slingshot)
Nalia (AC:-3 w/ Robe of Vecna, the +2 Sword with bonus mage spells, that +3 bow with its own ammo) OR Valygur
Imoen (AC: 3, Celestial Fury, +3 Short Bow - 3 rounds a turn)

Personally with my undead hunter I have taken Nalia because of her magical prowess. This party is very strong - currently just escaped Spellhold. The two paladins are a fromidable tank pairing with Anomen on back up most of the time, the three ladies can fire arrows/ spell cast from the back. Only real problem is getting Imoen's AC down, any hints?

You're a paladin and you take Viconia? Sigh.
Start with Bracers Of Defense AC 3 and go on from there.
When, pray tell, will Imoen ever use Celestial Fury?

I know that a Paladin shouldnt take a Evil NPC, and I guess that if I was really role playing by the book, i wouldnt have... But i dont need another paladin, whereas i do need a cleric... and viconia's one of the games best...and i dont really like Keldorn... i screwed up his Vengeance quest so he isnt a knight, and Valygar, in my opinion is so much better....

    @parvini

Imoen and the CF?? can she do any damage at all? and would she get butchered?

[IMG] Some folk either in this board or the ToB board made some really awsome posts on how it'd be cool for a Pally to take Viccy for a romance, and another post says how she really isn't truly evil, (I know for sure this is somewhere in the ToB board) like she just really been through a lot and is evil because she has only ever dealt with evil folk, and has never really had a friend who she can trust.

There is even one early convo with her and the PC, where she states admiration for the brother/sister bond between the PC and Immy.
