It's a bug resulting from the fact that the modder overlooked a script issue.

If your main character does not have the item in his or her inventory it will put one in your inventory upon loading a save.

The best way would be to tell the modder about it so the script could be fixed (which can be tricky and is the reason why mods that add items to a shop like Bodahn's are probably better in the end) or simply disable the mod and only enable it when you're using it (for instance there is no real reason for having the Green Legion Armour enabled if you're not using it).

If you're still having issues with the Mage Robes you could try the replacer version instead (although it looks a bit too sexy on Wynne).

I broke up the mod list in two because I've actually reached the character limit with the first list. :)

In my game I don't use everything. I have all the items on the mod list but I don't enable them if I'm not going to use them. The enabling/disabling option is really great so it's not a bad idea to take advantage of it.

Don't forget that you can change the way an item look with the Winter Forge mod. I only use the old version of this mod because the latest version adds a skill and I'm concerned about adding too many skills to the game. There seems to be a version for this mod that works with Awakening but I haven't tested it yet. Anyway, the Winter Forge is the easiest way to tweak the colour of an item (I mainly use it to get red Chasind Robes or change the heraldic symbol on a shield for instance).

Let me know of any game breaking or annoying issues so I can include comments in the mod list.

By the way, make sure you disable your modded items before starting a new game. Official items work fine when starting a new game but most mod items (or mods like auto loot) don't work with a new game. I should add a comment in the mod list on that point.

Oh, too late. I have that skill now, but I'm not too fascinated by the mod really. It adds elven scrolls that can be read for abilities, and I found dozens if not hundreds of x99 stacks in the mage tower. After a few minutes, my inventory is filled with components for this mod-enchanting. And then it just continues with 'could not read scroll' messages almost infinitely... I might just disable the mod in the future.
Well, I sent the head enchanter from the mage circle into the fade to rescue the boy... But when I clicked on character info, I got CTDed. I have no reason to believe it had anything to do with mods, but maybe this skill you mentioned might be involved.

The thing with the Enchanter may have something to do with the respec mod. Although I'm only guessing at that point as it may just be a bug.

I used him once and I had the DA Mutator component that allows to level characters the way you want. I've never used the respec mod myself (the Raven one).

I've tried to list major compatibility issues by the way but it's hard when you're running many mods to keep track of everything.

As far as the Winter Forge is concerned I'd suggest going back to a former save. If you disable it and force load you'll have the missing skill and the missing journal entry and if you do click on them it will crash your game.

I use the old version of the Winter Forge when I want to change the way an item looks and disabling the old version doesn't crash the game.

[IMG] Disabling the forge mod sounds like more trouble than it's worth. I'll just tolerate it.

There are mods with Awakening versions. Does that mean I need the regular version for the regular game, or will the Awakening version work for both games?

Are there any sexy outfits that will fit my female dwarf? All the robes, and the glass armour, just make her go invisible.:( I wanna see her backstab in a cute outfit, like a 'deadly butterfly' / Legendary Geisha!:D

Mods that come with Awakening versions usually have a version for Origins and another one for Awakening. You need both if you want to use the mod in both Origins and Awakening.

Mod items that are for Origins only usually (and I stress usually) get carried to Awakening if your character have them in his or her inventory when you export your character to Awakening. There are some issues with a particular quest in Awakening though so caution is advised.

For your Dwarf, I can't think of any sexy/cool outfit. Most outfits are for Humans and most modders don't seem to care about Dwarves.

I don't think that the replacer version of the Chasind Robe in the Sexy Mage Robe mod works with Dwarves.

If I find anything I'll let you know but I can't think of anything right now that would suit a Female Dwarf.

I settled on the Dalish Glass Armour mod for my dwarf. Although there are better armours with better bonuses available for her, I just like her walking around with a see-through top. I have an all-female team now:
    Dwarf: Dalish Armour
Leliana: Rashanta's Light Armour (my romance. dumped Alistair after learning I couldn't be his queen anyway)
    Morrigan: Feathers of Dusk
    Wynne: White Denna

It's been tricky, trying to use 2 rogues as tanks, especially since my party is wearing sexy over functional armours. But so far my spellcasters give me all the options I need, so I set the difficulty to Nightmare.:D

The more mages, the easier the game.

[IMG] Yeah, I gotta change my mind on the 3 mages thing. I don't regret taking rogue at all: Especially during solo challenges like the fade and proving, she is an awe-inspiring single target juggernaut. I take great pride in watching her twirl those daggers around, to deadly effect:xx:. My assassin/duelist doesn't have any AoE attacks, but what she lacks in crowd control, she more than makes up in single target damage. I 'respec'ed her and Leliana to have minimal Strength and high Cunning - it works great. I'm playing just as much for aesthetics as for powergaming, heheh.

Make some bombs/traps if you want AoE attacks.

[IMG] Oh yeah.. I guess I should be making use of some of those skills. Are bombs made with Potions, Poisons or Traps skill?? And which are the most recommended recipes to use? I'd like to know effective bombs for boss fights, and more easily made stuff to throw around, with everyday ingredients. I assume friendly fire is always possible with bombs..

Bombs are made with the Poison skill. The best thing is to stack different types of bombs because they have a cooldown so you can use one type and then another, by the time you've used the different bombs in your possession the first bomb you've used will have cooled down (and thus will be available).

If you don't invest in the skill you can still buy many bombs in shops. Investing in the skill with an NPC is not a bad choice as your main doesn't need more than one rank in the skill to use any bombs or poisons (it's actually a good incentive for keeping a bunch of NPCs in camp even if you never take them with your main).

Friendly fire is always a possibility. If you want to abuse a cheap and cheesy trick, use bombs while in stealth (for more cheese set a few traps before using your bomb and what the survivors set off the traps as they try to find your Rogue).

Bombs are the bomb... I find bombs to be effective at taking down multiple targets because it is AoE weapon. When used with stealth you can cleanout a group of enemies without ever being discovered especially when you have multiple types of bombs on hand.

Quite right. That's cheesy as hell though, just line using AoE spells without being in sight.

It doesn't help that it takes a mage's nukes forever to outdamage bombs. Don't tell others though. It might shatter the illusion of mages being the only things OP. :p

    Edit:
    Yay new gem.

    Mages can use bombs.

You can have an alchemist who uses bombs and cast spells from other lines (so still able to nuke somehow while being a better disabler or hexer).

Besides it gets rid of the absolute cheese of using bombs in stealth.

But that's the über-cheesy part of it, if I understand correctly. If a dragon has decimated your teammates, just go invisible and drop bombs. Bye bye dragon!

I'll definitely give bombs more attention now, as well as try that cheese:p

To do that you'll have to run away from the dragon first. You'll won't be able to activate Stealth if your character stands next to a dragon.

You'd better have many (and I mean many) bombs if you want to give this a try with a dragon... :shake:

As far as that cheesy tack is concerned it's better to handle crowds and especially enemy Mages. If you add a few traps it's going to be really silly as the enemies will move about and trigger your traps when you hit them with the bomb. I told you it was cheesy. I don't recommend it except for a cheap laugh.

[IMG] What happened to my Origins saves? I started an Awakenings game briefly, to see if all my gear transferred. I didn't see any items that my companions wore, so I planned to replay the final battle with the archdemon, and undressing my party just before it dies. But I don't see where my Origins saves have gone.. please tell me they haven't been deleted...

Edit: I found the savegames already, and restored the old ones. Never mind.
