    Hello everyone.

Before everyone start bombarding me with the line "did you search before you start a new thread about your problem?" the answer is yes.

    I am running on win 7 32bit.

So I installed that mod that let's you choose your resolution, and the one that fixes the lag in some places + I have the 2.01 patch.

Thing is that when I try to do this "Go to display properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting and set the slider" the button in the troubbleshoot tab isn't clickable... so I can't disable DirectDraw.

Another thing is that I'm running the game with one core and the game stil is sooooo slow.

    Help? Anyone?

P.S. Why can't i change my avatar? Do I have to post more posts or something?

    Thanks in advance!

Did you try pushing the the buttons in the Graphics section of the Options menu of Icewind Dale 2? I know the buttons give a description of specific problems they fix but I also know that sometimes they fix other problems that come up.

[IMG] Have you tried running in a normal resolution for the game or compatability mode?

You can't change your avatar without contributing to the site in some form. I believe there is also a minimum post count for starting a blog or posting in peoples' profiles as well, should be in the FAQ and rules linked at the top of every page, but don't remember specifically.

[Time to re-read the FAQ... -Tal]

I've already tried running it on windowed mode which was horrible,
when I tried full screen it played with lesser lags but now I think it's barely playable...

[IMG] Was it still lagging without the resolution mod? If it's lagging in a full screen then in a window it would be worse. I was asking if you were having problems in the default resolution settings, the normal settings for the game - without the mod.

Compatability mode emulates the game under previous Operating Systems, for some games it makes them run better.

I uninstalled the mod, played both on 800x600 and 1024x768 and it was choppy again...
I already had compatibility mode on win xp sp3, changed to win 98 and it wouldn't start at all..
I think this game don't wants me to play it again... xD

Sadly i think the only solution is to find a way to disable direct draw or as the previous poster said, run an older version on a vm.

Where is the game installed at? If its Program Files, its never a good idea to install any games in the Program Files directory thanks to the Windows UAC.
