Enchanted Weapons List (WARNING: spoilers & cheats)

Due to exsistance of some creatures that can be hurt only by Enchanted+3 weapons or higher, here's the list of those weapons in BG2. To make the list I used Infinity Engine Explorer and runned it over non-patched version of BG2.
The list includes also cheat weapons so please don't destroy your fun by using them, unless you have already finished the game at least once without cheating.

anyway, about those Fire Seed darts, what are those? Cheat weapons?

 

Just to clarify something. The Bows mentioned will not allow a character to hit any creatures that require + weapons to hit, eventhough they give a bonus THAC0. It is the arrow that does the hitting and therefor the best arrow to hit with is the Arrow of Piercing, THAC0 +4.

you can hit kangaxx with the Gesen bow when it fires it plane arrows (or whatever, ghostarrows? non-ammo thingies)

 

Fire seeds are not cheat weapon.

There is a priest or druid spell Fire Seeds that creates them - can't remember the level though.

Ok, more info on this amazing spell (too bad it doesn't get better with levels...):


The spell itself:

Fire Seeds (conjuration)
Level: 6
Spell Code: SPPR606
Sphere: Elemental
Range: Special
Duration: 3 turns
Casting Time: 1 round
Area of Effect: Special
Saving Throw: 1/2 damage

Casting the fire seed spell creates 4 fire seeds that will appear in the casters inventory. The seeds will remain in existence after the spell is cast for 3 turns. During this time, if they are thrown at an enemy, a fireball will ensue causing 2-16 points of damage to all within the area of effect, allowing a save vs. spells for half damage.


Info on seeds themself:

Fire Seed

Area of Effect: 70 ft.
Useable by anyone.

Created by the fire seed spell. When thrown at opponents they explode into small fireballs doing 2-16 damage to everyone within the area of effect. The fireseeds are used as a weapon.

 

Saw that Varscona was enchanted +10???

I got this weapon by pickpocekting one of Drizzt's female companions as they left the screen following my encounter with them upon returning to Amn from the Underdark (in a multiplayer game).

I saw the +2 enchantment and threw it in my bag of holding unused. I will have to try it with my Kensai and see what's what

How can this item be a "cheat" if I can get it like this? Or asked differently how is it that I can obtain a cheat item by doing an extremely common game action...

 

There is no creature in the game that wields Varscona. That makes it a cheat. I don't know what weapon you pickpocketed but that wasn't that item.


On the other hand, there is more than one creature in the game that wields that Short Sword of Backstabbing and slays you with it in one shot. That happens only in special occasions. And you can't get that weapon by any means, at least I think that - so that's a cheat too.
Tomorrow I'll edit inside this note a list of it's wielders (six or seven creatures I think).

I did get it as described above. Maybe this is a bug. However, I did not use any cheat code (I do not know one or how to get one) or an editor. I got it from an encounter.

 

yea its true...alot of the items have at least 2 types

 

I've never heard of Varscona. So ae you saying that the +10 version isn't in the game without a code? that's just too powerful.

I was given a short sword of backstabbing when I finished Bloodscalps quest, I think. Is that a different version?

 

About that Varscona sword, I don't know if there is really real Varscona in the game besides the cheat item. Yet.

But, guys, I was wrong a bit up there about Short Sword of Backstabbing. I won't edit it like I said because I found out some very interesting stuff about that two versions sword. At least it was interesting to me...
Anyway, here comes the correction.

There are indeed about half of dozen creatures equipped with Short Sword of Backstabbing. But that is not INSTANT SLAYING version - that's ordinary version. And that's enough spamming about that.

There is ONLY ONE creature in the whole game with INSTANT SLAYING version of that sword. This special creature is named Arkanis Gath. However there are two versions of Arkanis Gath:
1. neutral - equipped with ordinary Short Sword of Backstabbing.
2. hostile - instant killer with instant slaying version of Short Sword of Backstabbing.

Special instant killer version of Arkanis Gath is spawned in two occasions:
1. If you haven't accepted Bodhi's proposition and attack Shadow Thieves (i.e. Renal)
2. If you refuse to kill Embarl when Mae Var asks you to do that

This special version of Arkanis Gath cannot be killed (not because that sword, but because of special invisible ring he wears that gives him immunity to everything). Also he wears one more ring that makes him Hasted - and this ring is visible.
But the part of interest here is that the sword he is equipped with is INSTANT SLAYING version of Short Sword of Backstabbing. As I said before, this sword kills every single opponent with one stroke and there is no possible saving throw against that. So, you get butchered once when he swings it.

Whatever, I found out one more "special" ability of that special version of the sword that made me to post it's code. I won't spoil what it is - you'll have to find it out yourself. So, create the special version of the sword thru Console with the code I wrote below.
And when you find out about that ability, you can hear my comment on it - just type this command in the Console:

While I was in the chatroom, there was also this nice man that checked hostile Arkanis Gath creature instead of me. I mean, I deleted all my saves long ago and now I can't experiment with the game. If there wasn't him, I would have to play my hated game again from scratch just to find it all out.
