    I am just being curious...;)

Had quite a few of these, myself. The first one was designed as a few - hours - lasting urban adventure, main quest being joining/negotiating/fighting the local group of thugs. The second one was intended to be longer, the player character being a scout, messenger and a soldier during wartime. The third... well, it was supposed to be a tale of epic proportions, based on a 'novel' I had written at the age of fourteen. Six months in the making, I realized how extraordinarily *bad* the novel was, and deleted everything. I regret nothing.:D

[IMG] I've started a few on my desktop at home which never saw an ending. Played around with the toolset from curiosity and no real skill so didn't get much further than designing areas, dialogues and people.

Only one I got really far on was before the second second expansion for NWN1 where I managed to build a very large, highly populated, region including basic quests, information updates and interaction between different people including arguments between NPCs getting in the way of you getting on with them. Was on a friends computer as I didn't have a computer that ran NWN at the time.

Was deleted as part of him freeing up space on his computer and it was one of the largest files he didn't know where it came from.

Can't really complain, might start it again one day if I get NWN2.

    Lots.

I actually finished my first one, and it was everything a module should not be. It even featured a Drizzt cameo - that's how bad it was. It had one side quest, and went from level 1 to 20 in the space of an hour. I then started a sequel, which was just as bad.

Next I made a generic levelling module, where you picked what level you wanted to be, and got free items as required. It was finished, and ok.

I then started a PW based on the MUD I used to play. I made a few dozen areas and added some quests and a guild system before getting bored. It didn't suck totally.

Then I tried a kinda sci-fi module, where you go through a portal from the modern world (complete with guns) into a fantasy world, and have to try and get home. I was quite proud of it at the time - it had choices that actually mattered, such as killing a minor villain at the wrong time meant that the prisoners in his basement had no one to feed them and they could starve. Never finished it though - I didn't really have a story for it and just kinda made it up as I went along.

I then tried to recreate a Battlefield 1942-style multiplayer game, complete with tanks and automated defence turrets, and classes such as medic, sniper etc. It was a little ambitious, especially when I tried to add bots. In all fairness a lot of it worked, just not at all well.

My crowning achievement was a gothic horror story, set in medieval London, but with a shocking fantasy twist! The Pope had been assassinated, ushering in the final days, and the dead walked the streets, led by the nobility who had become vampires. On top of this there were the various political factions in the church trying to hold everything together. I'd writted about 10,000 words of dialogue, including several joinable NPCs with backstories, and multiple plot twists, cutscenes etc, before neglecting to back it up in one of my computer formats. I was (and still am) devastated. It was very good.

There have probably been others that I can't remember.

Daaamn, a pity it is lost now. Also, you mentioned guns earlier - made your own hakpack, then?

Just used the amazing D20 Modern set found here. Amazing for any gun-related module! Massive download, though.

And here I was being impressed! :D. Joking. I still am - you have managed to make some cut - scenes, myself, I have not figured that out as of yet.

Ah, I see. NWN with guns... interesting. Makes me wish for someone to make a Chronicles of Amber based module. Whoa. That would be awesome.

If you're wanting cutscenes in NWN1, check out Gestalt's Cutscene assistant. It really does make things a lot easier. Have to have basic scripting knowledge, but it's pretty self explanatory.

Yup, that's how I did it too. :) Cutscenes are easy with Gestalt.

I wanted to pay a NWN tribute to Warriors of The Eternal Sun, but my total ignorance of script means it sucks.
