Mind flayer city and the slayer

    [​IMG] I've almost lost the paladin class on my main carecter and used all of the reputation increases. I'm stuck at this door and the mind flayer wont open it! So how to I keep the paladin class?

    The problem is that the slayer is *evil* while a paladin is *good* - using the slayer change ability is considered *evil* so you loose reputation (you cannot miss it - there's a report on the game screen) - and when your rep drops too low (don't know the exact number) you loose your paladin class and become a fallen paladin (just like that bunch in bridge district).

    Once that happened you iirc cannot get it back. So my suggestion is: Reload.

    [​IMG] Don't use slayer change to bust open the doors, use the control circlets that you get from the machine that is in the room with all those slaves. (To free the slaves, get the serum from a red room that is north of the slave room.) With the control circlets you can dominate Mind Flayers, not Illithids, just the Mind Flayers. You then have them walk up to the door and open it for you. Mindflayers respawn in the red serum room, and you can get 4 control circlets from the slave room. You don't need the Slayer ability at all.

    IIRC you can regain your Paladin or Ranger status by doing their stronghold quests, but I bet you've already done them...

    [​IMG] In the end i had to lose paladin class. seems the problem was I using Ulithids not Mind Flayers when i went back to the respawn room they woundn't respawn (i left the computer for half an hour!) :(

    You already did it? Ugh. In the worst case we could have given you the CLUA command to create a Mind Flayer, but I guess it's too late now.

    The fun of using the circlets on mindflayers is that you can control THEIR minds and you wont loose your paladin status...:)

    Those cirlets actually work on any creature, with no save. Try using one on a dragon or a lich for some fun :).
