    Green slime !!!

One of them just chunked Khalid with the insta-kill ability in my no-reloads game  They are more dangerous than basilisks, the turn to stone is reversible, and they only worth 65 XP

Basilisks. They require a lot of preparation. And, alas, even when one is prepared... boom! The anti - petrification spell fades. Boom! The potion's effects wear off. Boom! The cleric/druid is turned to stone. The basilisk is hissing something among the lines of: Exegi monumentum aere perennius. Boom! We win. Alas, have no healing potions left, as we had used them all during the fight. Boom! The stone - to - flesh'd cleric/druid has not enough spells to heal him/herself yet. Boom! We drag the bloodied cleric/druid to the nearest city.

Or better yet. Boom! Bhaalspawn thief offers to go stalk ahead. Boom! Everyone agrees. Boom! Hide in Shadows successful. Basilisk. Boom! Hide in Shadows failed. Boom! Bhaalspawn petrified. Boom! Reload...

Corax the Ghoul, wherever you are, thank you. :D

Ettercaps or Kobod Commandos. I don't mind Bassilisks or Sirens so much. They really aren't a challenge if you are prepared. I only hate Kobold Commandos because of the Firewine Bridge. Ettercaps are just creepy, ugly, and their posion can be dangerous.
