What AutoPause Options Do You Use?

    [IMG] If any...

As of right now, I only have "Rest Until Healed" set, along with pauses when traps are detected, and enemies are sighted.

Does anyone use the "pause at the end of every turn" option? Is it worth it? I tried it once while doing the "Save Haer'Dalis Quest", and found it to be quite annoying!

Then again, I had AI on as well...

    Any comments?

I really have no use of autopause because i find it to be very annoying, and i use autopause alot anyways. Autopause enemy sighted, detect traps, and party member dead is probably one of the most not worthy ones. The annoying ones are autopause after weapon unusable, etc... It does this when your touch attack is used up, and or you run out of arrows. It sucks! Definately autopause at the end of every turn is not worth it. You'll find it more of a nuisance and it really really takes away from the action. Baldursgate fighting is semi realtime..........

I never use autopause and I don't need it - I prefer manual pausing, that's good enough for me.

I use Rest Until Healed. No Autopause or AI, but I manual pause every five seconds :).

I like to use autopause, so I can get the best out of a group of six people (I don't make much use of AI for similar reasons). I use autopause on sighting an enemy (so all the party have time to make quick response), on taking damage (so if a noncombatant is getting hit I can take remedial action), and at end of round so I can keep track of things. Sometimes I find myself continually pressing space to get rid of unneeded pauses; it might be interesting to get rid of the pause at end of round, and see how that goes. In fact, I might try using a lot less autopausing while I'm soloing, and see how that goes.

When having a group, I use pause when enemy sighted so that I can either fight using the A1 or turn it off if I want to do everything manually (e.g. special tactic - web and I don't want fighter running in). If I have a really hard battle (twisted rune, dragon) I have paused at the end of each round so that my spellcasters don't miss a round).

On solo it is all turned off. Manual pauses are also much less frequent.

The last battle of ToB I just kept dieing eventually I turned on pause at end of round after that I won. It really is a neat option if you are having a real tough fight, but you shouldn't keep it on continueasly that will drive you coco

I only rest to regain spells, so Rest Until Healed isn't really an option. Dual Rings of Regeneration work wonders :)

Used to have Autopause when Enemy Sighted, but I turned that off as well.

[IMG] If you don't use it, you don't know the power of it. :)

I use autopause on "Spell cast" and "Enemy destroyed".
Spell cast - you can order your spellcaster to take other action, it has some impact since one thing is spell casted, other is fancy graphics.
Enemy destroyed - well, let's give Minsc another toy :)

I don't use AI, since you'll be missing part of the gameplay.
Neither do i use, auto-pause until party healed. (I have the Ring of Regeneration and some "Healing spell casters"). So i only rest to memorize spells.

'Spell cast' and 'trap detected' are the only two I use. I have 'character injured' turned on too, but it's never been an issue.

[IMG] I don't use any. I find it better if I manually pause it in battle, so I can Think over a stratergy.
