My Berserker can´t dual!?

I´m playing a berserker whom I´m going to dual to cleric, but when I enter the "recordscreen" the dual button is grey. (Wich means that I can´t dual) What´s wrong?

 

Had you told something more about your char, maybe his *STATS*, I could have said something specific ..

You need at least 17 in your chars prime stats. In your case, a fighter-cleric, the prime stats are: Strength & Wisdom - however, a good con and good dex are advantageous too

btw- ever considered to stop using the smiley ?

I have:
Strength: 11 (I´m gonna use girlde of hg str)
Dexterity:18
Constitution:18
Intelligence:18
Wisdom:18
Charisma:11
These are my stats, so I have a good feeling that I SHOULD be able to dual. And yes I am human...
Any idea now what´s wrong?

You need 15 STR to dualclass a fighter into whatever. Is it not obviously explained even in game?

The reason I ask is that I always get the feeling that you are trying to tell a joke when you say: " I can't dual my char ". IMHO smileys are there to underline what you write. So I always start to think about what the hell you want to say, before I remember that it's just Zaragoth typing.

So your use of the smiley results in me thinking you're an idiot and makes me considering not to answer your questions anymore because you start to annoy me. It's just like talking to these people that always need to blink when they talk - but that's just MHO.

If it is just your strength holding you back, you could always use shadowkeeper to bump up that one stat. That might be better than having the game spoiled or having to start again.

But be careful using it - don't give into temptation and also make sure you have a saved game as backup as some people have found it to be unstable.

PS sorry to mention the S and K words Extremist but I'm too thick to know of any other alternative

 

Here's my two cents. I also had a beserker I tried to dual to mage. He did have high enough scores to do it, so succeeded with no problem. A problem did arise later when he tried to cast spells. He couldn't. I had to download the latest patch that fixed that little problem. So don't forget to do that, if you haven't already. Plus it'll fix other bugs too numerous to go into here. To dear one cheater who want to boost the strength:

1. Activate the console.
2. Press CTRL+SPACE in the game to open the console
3. In console type: CLUAConsole:CreateItem("BOOK04",X) - X is number of these books you need
4. Move books to quick slot.
5. With each press one book is consumed and you get STR+1 and besides it the game engine ADJUSTS your other derived stats.

 

I don´t want to cheat! I´m starting over. I hate cheaters
But thanks for the tip anyway Now - Another question; At what level might it be best dualling to a cleric (considering Thac0 and all that?)
