I just finished IWD and its expansion and I'm getting to dive deep into IWD2. I've been doing some research trying to come up with a good party. So far I've only brainstormed a few ideas and wanted to get whatever help and feedback you experts have to offer. I'm figuring on just running with a 5 man group. At any rate this the basic rundown of what I've got thus far:

    1. Half-Orc Fighter 4/Barbarian X (TANK)

    2. Pure Rogue or Ranger 1/Rogue X (Scout/Thief and Sneak Attacker. Not sure on Race though)

    3. Cleric of course (Not sure what order to use or if I should throw in 4 levels of fighter and I'm not sure on race just yet)

    4. Wild Elf Sorcerer

    5. Not sure on 5th. Maybe a Paladin or a dedicated Archer.

Anyways, I know it not much to go on but any feedback would be most helpful. Thanks a bunch

Clerics rule the day in IWD2, add another to spot # 5. Possibly a Pal(1)/Cleric(X). Trust me you won't regret it.

Why only 5 PCs? Going to Six PCs doesn't really change your level much and the six PC can make the party more powerful. Another Arcane caster or BArd will really balance your team out. Bard's can heal with song after reaching a certain level, giving the Cleric more flexibility in his spell choices. Basically allowing you to casts more summon and buffs, only needing HEAL for emergencies.

I had fun with a monk -- it makes the Black Raven Monastery more interesting.

Thanks for the reply guys. Well I've been checking out a few party and character guides and this is what I've come up with thus far:

    Dwarf Fighter 4/ Barbarian X
    Half-Orc Rogue
    Dwarf Battleguard of Tempus
    Human Morninglord of Lathander
    Human Sorcerer

Not sure what to make for the 6th character. Any ideas? Thanks

Your party is still missing a druid, so that feels like a natural choice. It would also give extra support in firepower to your party's sorcerer. But anything goes, since you got your bases covered already. :)
