    *ahem*

OK, let's face it - all mods will, at some time or another, give you cancer. It's a documented fact. And the bigger the mod, the bigger the tumour. So Baldurdash will give you one the size of a grape, while the G3 Fixpack will give you an apple; same idea with Ease-of Use vs. G3 Tweakpack. IA's growth, of course, will be as large as a watermelon. SCS2's tumour is relatively small, but it has the added feature (as an optional component) of allowing you to grow an additional appendage of your choice (I'm so ticked off that I didn't select the, um, "fourth leg"). But essentially, if you value your health, and want to be totally safe, avoid mods.

Having said that, I like the additional options provided by the G3 Tweakpack, so I prefer that over EoU. My doctor gives me 4 months to live.

It doesn't require it, actually. It's certainly recommended (SCSII was written on a Fixpack base) but I try (a bit) to support people who use other solutions or none.

You didn't start anything and you don't have to be sorry.

Most of those who posted to this thread unfortunately doesn't care if you need help, they just spring at any opportunity to settle an old feud.

Unfortunately this can really scare newcomers to this board away.

But it is good that you problem is solved. Have a happy gaming. :)

Somehow I didn't see any post among the initial answers that would seem to be yours... (which initial posts did answer Danilus' questions, also providing additional information -- which then triggered a discussion, indeed). Some people are keen to be clever and speak up after a discussion ends, after a question is answered, after the problem is sorted out... but not before it.

    I don't know the answer.

    I don't do mods.

You can take a wild guess why. :D

What I do is feeling sorry for a newcomer who inadvertently ran into this discussion.

If you take a step back and look at it, you might too.

The newcomer didn't "run" into a discussion, he asked a question and got an answer. With the additional information, he can consider it or not; and one of the advantages of forum topics compared to PMs is exactly to provide information to more people beside the OP (considering that if one person is wondering about something, others will probably also do).

Saying "sorry to start a feud here I didnt know there was one about this" is pure politeness, nothing more. His problem was solved, and he doesn't care anymore about things he isn't interested in. Same with you, and basically everyone. Let's not lie to ourselves, you also don't really care too much. When Shaitan or you stands up and says to someone "you don't have to be sorry", you also don't care much about it, just your usual posting because you noticed a topic where you felt you can write a post. You don't know who the person is, you will most likely never meet him, and perhaps you won't ever see him online either. So these "you don't have to be sorry, it's the ugly modders who did it all" isn't just childish, it's also hypocritical. Unlike for example Sikret, who have spent very much time with BG2 research (no, it's not playing; it's hard work), someone whose posts are based on technical facts and thorough experience. So *such* technical posts are exactly beneficial for the readers because they contain actual information, unlike yours.

Just let's not pretend you're feeling sorry for someone who you doesn't know and is otherwise is just a small part of your daily foruming activity anyway. Perhaps even you don't realize that you actually don't care, but that's the truth. Just think of it. An automatic answer. A forum cliche, nothing more. :(

[IMG] Enough. The last several posts have had nothing to do with the topic of the thread; all this extra nonsense does is make it harder for someone later to find the answer to the question posed.

Using a character editor would probably be the only way to salvage such a character... though I'm not sure if even that would work.

Btw, you're using the zero (0) character instead of "o".

sorry about that..my keyboard had a problem with some keys..It's been replaced. So the XP remove cap only allows me to achieve the levels I'm now... so it's not really a "remove cap" ! I guess I'll use CLUAconsole to adjust my xp if that is possible... And so I did... but the levels remain the same! I don't lose any lvl even if I set my xp at 1000. So... where can I get this character editor..?

[IMG] Removing the xp cap means adding to the tables that deal with level progression - which is why most of those mods advertise themselves as which level they increase to (level 50 cap, etc)

There is no definitive "level up get x" like some 3rd edition games could be capable of, so it's an instance of how far is feasible for a modder to make and distribute.

I didn't said "it's not really XP remove cap" to flame the moderatorsw who have done incredible job.. :(
It should have been named "Increase lvl cap to 40 lvl" or something like this. I wasted 5-6 hours scrolling and now I'm maxed out not even having entered ToB!
so what editor could I use to try decreasing the lvl/xp of my character? Shadowkeeper?
