BGT Can't exit Candlekeep

    I recently installed BGT as per installation instructions and ever since then Gorion's either to busy to talk to me (I know this is a well known bug) or my game crashes upon leaving Candlekeep. I've patched and reinstalled what seems like a million times to try and get rid of the bug with no success.
    What really bothers me though is the crashing. I'd really like to play the whole saga with the bgII engine.
    If it matters I'm running windows 7 64 -bit

    Mods:
    BG1 NPC
    BG2 Tweaks
    BG2 Fixpack
    BGT Tweak

    Anyone have any idea why I keep crashing?

    I do believe that you only need ONE fixpack. I don't know for sure, but this might be your problem. If someone smarter knows better, please correct me.

    I don't have it myself but I hear there are problems with installing things in the Program Files directory.

    Try uninstalling one mod at a time, after each uninstall have a go at exiting Candlekeep, can you do it without crashing?

    Should have mentioned I installed directly under C: to avoid the program Files hassle.

    I tried uninstalling mods, but have had no luck getting past Gorion so far...

    Quick question: Can a character file be corrupt? I've been importing the same character from a save game to save time with character creation.

    Very possible. ANY file could get corrupted and cause problems, not just a character file. When reinstalling, I recommend first uninstalling, and removing all traces of the program. CCleaner is an invaluable tool to this end.

    The BG2 Fixpack, that's hosted in G3, needs to be installed before the BGT-WeiDU ! It's said so in the pinned thread at SHS...

    If all else fails, get cracking with Near Infinity.
    The Worldmap part will tell you the Area number for Candlekeep. In BG2, pressing the X key does the same thing, don't know about BG1.
    After finding the Area number, check the NPCs in Candlekeep and look where they are found. You should eventually find Gorion. Then check his Cre file which will lead to his Dlg file. Also check the area script.
    You may eventually find the problem. Back up any file before attempting to alter it.
    Also, check the BGT forum, search for Candlekeep.
