I had been dropping by youtube and found this video.

I remember seeing the books for this game when I was younger.

Anyway I thought it was a nice trailer for the new game and it handles showing layer upon layer of a situation without any narration pretty well.

If you are under 18 youtube will try not to let you see it but I think it is part of a trailer & recruitment video (for people to help them) with this upcoming game based on an RPG.

    Thoughts?

That's a trailer for CD Projekt's new Cyberpunk 2077 game that they're developing... we actually posted about it in the news a while ago. And today too: http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=58885

I'm not sure how I feel about cyberpunk today though. It's somewhat dated since we're basically at the point that the original cyberpunk expected its vision to come true. Some of it has, but other aspects are rather silly today and it's obvious that future development is not going in that direction. You'd need to shift the setting at least 100+ into the future to maintain some sort of believability and sync the idea of the Internet and a few other concepts with what we're actually using today.

Trailer looks pretty sweet, though I don't see why you'd need to be over 18 for this. It doesn't show much more than the setting, but it's quite subtle in how it tells a story, which I appreciate.

I'm not so sure what is so cyberpunk about this setting, although I must admit that I'm not that familiar with the Cyberpunk 2077 thing. I do like the setting as shown in the trailer, though.

    Tal,
If nothing else, one could look at it as an "alternate future" where certain aspects of technology went in radically different directions.

That premise works for the Fallout series of games, IMO it could be believable enough with this one...
