Very sorry if this has been addressed already. I didn't find it anywhere but I'm sure it has come up before.
When is BG2EE due out?

I have been following the Baldur's Gate forums and have seen no info so far on when BG2:EE will be out. I think they are still busy bugfixing the first game.

For BG:EE the developers initially committed to a release in mid-September, then they had to change that to late November, and when they released the game it was still very buggy. So I suspect they won't commit to a release date before they are 100% certain they can release a reasonably bug-free game on that day. :)

After the trainwreck reviews that BG:EE got, I'm not sure they should even bother. I for one will not likely buy it except maybe to review it myself after I was so disappointed with the first installment.

I still don't see why the 1st game got such bad reviews. I thought it played rather nicely, especially compared to EVERY other game out there when first released these days. It is now running smoothly with a lot more content added on since the release as well. Mods are popping up. All in all, BG:EE has been quite refreshing.

I think Monty is right though. They will try to avoid some of the mistakes they made in the first try that the fan base did not care for. Which makes obvious sense. I feel that BG:EE was the trial run. The real game changer will be BG2:EE. They can add as much new content as they want without killing the game. New NPCs should be limitless.

I personally felt cheated and disgusted at their bogus use of the term "enhanced". I expected more than BG1 Tutu wrapped up in a nice £15 price tag.

I thought the "enhancement" was for graphics only, which is the only thing they could actually modernize. What they released wasn't a major upgrade in graphics. But the gameplay, once bug-fixed, worked out nicely. 3 New NPCs, all of which have excellent story lines, more in-line with BG2, make it a new experience in my book. Plus they continuing to add content, so it will continue to grow and flesh out. In retrospect, they should of just pushed back the release date even farther to make sure everything was done right the 1st time. Again, hopefully we will have lessons learned when BG2:EE finally comes around.
