Yes, it's possible defeat Drizzt without cheating

I think that everyone has tried to kill drizzt,
and almost every party have died in 7 seconds.
I found a very nice way to kill Drizzt, and you
only need two characters.
Drizzt has a very powerful AC(-17) and a deadly
THACO (-8). It isn't a good idea fight with him
in meele.
You need boots of speed for the first character,
a good AC, and many health potions.
You can get boots of speed in Cloakwood mines.
You need for the second character:
Some weapon profiency in bow.
Bracers of Archery - south of Nashkel
There is a great bow in Bandit camp - I can't
remember its name.
Arrows of biting - at least 60. (Thaco + 4)
2 potion of heroism( I don't know if I write it
well, I have BG in Spanish)
It will be a good idea have:
Helm of Balduran - Cloak and Helm inn in BG.
Well, if you have these items and if you are a
warrior, you should have a THACO of -2.

Drizzt will speak to you, he will kill some
foes, and he will wait until you speak to him.
Don't do it.
Drink the potion of heroism (second character)
Put your second character about 20 ft from
drizzt, your first character behind him and hit
him and start to run.

While Drizzt is chasing your fist character,you
have to attack drizzt with the second( with the
arrows of biting).

You need 13 or better to hit him. If drizzt hits
the first character (it shouldn't happen, but
it's possible) drink a health potion.

Every successful hit, Drizzt will take 6 - 10
hit points of damage.

Drizzt has about 90 - 100 hp, but you will be
able to kill him in 2 minutes or less.

Your reputation will decrease 10, you will gain
12000 exp. points, and a great armor and two
great weapons!.

Don't try to kill Drizzt with magic, it doesn't
work.

 

I guess there must have been something wrong with my game. I pickpocketed then attacked but he didn't turn hostile, even after i had hit him 4 or 5 times. Just kept trying to run away (not morale failure, just kept wandering about while i followed). Ended up getting him into a corner and mincing him up real good.

 

What his magic resistance like? Would killing him with magic missile be feasible assuming one had the boots of speed?

There is more than one way to get Drizzt!

You need TotSC to get access to the Spell:
Otiluke's Resilient Sphere

Cast it on a party member just before Drizzy attacks them and it should last long enough for the other 5 to kill him using ranged weapons and the best ammo (+2 stones/arrows or bolts of bitting or piercing).
Keep a back up scroll in case you need to cast it again.

Works for me!

Oh and make sure to cast Bless. Maybe oil of speed too, but I didn't need it.
