When I was tutoring scrubs at my company, I constantly reminded them not to do stupid stuff. Not because I cared, but because it would reflect poorly on me if they didn't produce results.

I would have been seriously underwhelmed if I had watched the movies after I played the games. The movies aren't really that good imho (including the original three).

 

Fever? Check.
Sore Throat? Check.
High level of pain when swallowing? Check.
Other than feeling generally achy, no other real coldlike symptoms to speak of? Check.

Sounds like strep throat. Of course it has to happen when I take my family away for the weekend to Rancho Mirage. Trying to ignore it. Easier said than done.

/sigh

 

I'm becoming more mysophobic with every year. I hate using public transportation or doing groceries. People are disgusting and they leave their germs everywhere. Especially children.

On the bright side, my mildly compulsive tendencies have improved my health significantly. Being a shut-in helps too.

 

Keneth, are you suggesting people leave their germs everywhere, including on children, or that the children are themselves germs?

In either case, I agree that children are icky

 

I'm suggesting that children are tiny people that are especially efficient at spreading their germs everywhere.

Being around children is the fastest and surest way to catch something.

The only children I'm ever having are cats.

 

I used to think like you untill my sister got herself three of them. Now, I dunno, I kinda like them, well only my sister's, a stranger's children are still annoying.

How can you not love her ?

 

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore my own niece too. She might, in fact, be the only person on the planet I actually like (probably because I don't see her very often). She's also the only one who'll watch Disney movies with me. But I've raised and been around too many annoying and disgusting kids to ever want to have any of my own.

I'll stick to animals.

I went to the doctor's this morning, and sure enough, it's strep. I'm now on antibiotics (Penicillin) and have a nice solution to gargle every few hours to numb my throat (though it's not nearly strong enough for my taste).

It didn't totally destroy our weekend plans, but we did miss the Palm Springs aerial tramway as I was starting to break out in a cold sweat and had to throw in the towel at that point.

 

Sorry to hear about you being sick Marceror. Jello and chicken soup. I also find hot baths followed by jumping into a bed with extra comforters and two layers of pajamas helps too.

 

We'll go back and try it another day. I know my boys would dig it. It's not that long of a drive to get out there.

 

I myself prefer to sleep with as little clothes as possible, sometimes in the summers I oft sleep with naught at all. Now, that's sure to give you nightmares.

 

I find it almost impossible to sleep with clothes on (except for underwear), even when it's below zero (inside, not outside!). I didn't think people still wore jammies. That's so 20th century.

 

I don't think that I even could sleep if it were that cold. But I would most certainly be bundled up... like in way more than just jammies!

 

Lol I don't wear jammies - I just layer up when I'm sick. I usually just sleep in a t-shirt, but when the flu or something similar hits I'll put on sweats and a t-shirt with a sweatshirt over top. For some reason sweating seems to help.

 

That's vile! I despise being hot

 

I don't really use heating, so my house easily cools down to below zero temperatures during wintertime.
