I have a rather cool and down-to-earth fan base. Lots of people have met me, but you'll hear none of them bragging about it.

    :p

Played pick-up basketball years ago against a team that included Acie Earl, who went on to play a few seasons in the NBA and at that point held several NCAA records (and I think he was a music producer after that). He didn't acknowledge anyone other than a couple of the guys on his team.

When I was in college, Jesus Lizard (an alternative-punk band) crashed at the house I was living in after one of their shows. I don't really remember them because that happened after a very rough night of partying.

Also while in college, Slash came in to my favorite bar while I was there and had a drink. He was nice, I guess, and talked to quite a few fans who where there at the time (this was back in the early 90s when GnR were together and still really hot).

When I was in Nashville, fifteen years or so ago, I almost knocked Shania Twain down as she was coming out of a club I was going in to. I think I was almost thrashed by the big guys with her (who I assume were bodyguards) but I guess I escaped with my skin.

I met a bunch of pro wrestlers who came to our base in Iraq a few years ago, including John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Vince McMahon. They were all really cool, down-to-earth, pleasant and outgoing. I don't think any of them were over 6 feet tall and in regular civilian clothes (it was cold so they were wearing coats, too) they didn't look particularly "huge" or "built" either, though Cena had to strip down to a t-shirt to do pictures with all the female troops and he was obviously pretty muscular and lean.

In the course of my career in the military, I've met numerous generals, politicians, commentators, journalists, et al, who are public figures, I guess, but I don't really think they are celebrities (though I suppose a few are).

I suppose there are others but I sure don't remember them anymore...
