Um, I rescued Haer'dalis from Mekrath but wasn't ready for him to join me, so I said I would meet him at the Five Flagons.

I have gone to meet him and asked him to join me, he said he might if I got him 'gem' back.

I then told him that I had but he would not touch it and told me to take it to Raelis Shai.

I took it to her and got the experience and money and the summoning of the portal started. I said I would help with whatever came through.

I killed a few things that came through the portal, and after killing a shadow fiend, all the actors, apart from Haer'dalis turned hostile.

Now I killed em, but couldn't get Haer'dalis to join me, and I couldn't go through the portal then.

How do I stop them going hostile.

Luckily I have my save game just before I go down to them.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Lady Zidane

My game is paused as we speak, with me scratching my head....

[IMG] They shouldn't be going hostile without a reason. You probably hit one of the with an arrow or a spell accidentally. Just replay the fight and it should be ok.

Have you Killed the demon boss and destroyed the control rod/orb(whatever)? They may be under the influence of the mind control device that works through thier magical collars.

[IMG] Shamroc - that part comes later than where Lady Zidane is, so don't spoil it for her ;).

I would have to agree with Tal - you probably accidently hit them with a spell or something :)

    Also there are more possibilities.

First one is that you have Cloak of Mirroring or something similar or you casted some deflection spell that bumped some spell back to the caster and turned him/her into hosile.

Second possibility is that someone casted charm spell on the enemy. This won't affect the battle is you have SoA. But if you have ToB installed, this will instantly turn attacked neutrals to hostiles. This also may happen while exiting Underdark (later in the game), but as I've said, ONLY with ToB installed.

    Hiya all

I took off all my scripts from my magic casters and just had my party hit them with good old arrows and swords.

I obviously had Aerie or Jaheira cast something horrible and it hit one of them.

Once I took off my scripts, it worked.

FYI it didn't spoil it for me later as I had already done it on a previous unfinished game, so I knew what was coming, which is why I queried them going hostile.

    I solved it anyway.

    But thats for the help.

    Cheers

    Lady Z

ps, even though I took off all the "pink things" from the bodies, they have disappeared from my inventory now. Is that correct? Don't want to spoil it for anyone else, so I am deliberately being vague.

[IMG] Yep; thats right. Those (*ahem*) "pink things" are only useful to the Warden (unlike a different version found later on in the game) and are only available for the picking up/identifying to give a little information. I suppose, like certain portal keys etc, they are simply deleted by the game for convenience's sake.
