This was my PC until a few days ago when I finally finished my first game. The abilty scores I did more to fit in with my idea of this character rather than trying to be perfect. This is before the final confrontation with Irenicus at the end, and prior to the changes made to the stats by opening his door.

I just started a monk (another (forced) lawful character, sigh...), he's only level 8 (STR 18, DEX 18, CON 16 (doesn't get HP bonuses beyond this), INT 12, WIS 14, CHA 18, a very good roll, and only my third try ).

Does anybody play with summed stats lower than 90?
Are those EPO dripping, gene manipulated meatballs really fun playing??
In BGI I beat the game with a first throw character (about 80).

 

I remember rolling for a while in BG1...The best I got was 108 points! After the patch came out though, I never got anything higher 98 for a fighter/paladin.

 

My stat total was 86 when I created Grub and he started the game with the following stats:

STR: 19
DEX: 18
CON: 19
INT: 14
WIS: 13
CHA: 03

The only reason he has an 18 Charisma now is due to an item. Otherwise, that's my only modified stat in the game and if removed, places him back down to his original starting total, 4 below 90.

It's very hard to get a bad roll with a paladin. I realize that my monk's roll was very good, but you should've seen his first two, two of the worst I've seen. I'm not putting his INT down to moronic level just to get halfway decent stats on some of the others. Even though INT doesn't matter, it says something about the character.

 

This is my first and favourite character.
I re-created him twice.
Shura No Oni, Kensai 17
dual wielding celestial fury and the equaliser
5 slots in katana, 2 in longsword and 3 in dual wield.
quite a weak character and i only got through by the skin of my teeth
Second time: Shura No Oni, kensai mage 12/15
same weapons, but only 1 pt in long sword and 1 in dual wield. Tougher and more badass with mage spells.
