Chapter 5 bugs and problems

Lo Im on Chp 5 on bg2 and when i go to do the task of rescueing the priestess from the the mind flayers there are no mind flayers and Soulafein is there jsut idling away when i click to to talk to him he just replys with I have no tiem for idle chat or something and another thing my main character can not talk he just generates red text i have tried everything for eg just selecting him patching etc.....
?Please help?

 

Tried sleeping? The drow quests are timed. Mind flayers show up after you've talked to Solaufein, he should tell you to prepare yourself. Don't know about the main character talking, try reloading from the last auto-save?

 

Hi yeh i tried sleeping but nothing , you see i know the quests are timed but once i speak to him he just says his mind is caught in ideas of the future and then nothign happens BUT!! I went and cleared teh illithed city because i thought they would be in there and nothing, i haveeven tried openign the prison cells in which i was once in and i cant because ive used up my 4 controlly thingys.

PS.Fixed problem with red text by patching again. So can ppl plz help me with Chp 5 quest problemText

 

I don't understand a word you're saying.
All I see some text problem, Illithids and Solaufein.

If you don't have ToB installed, download from Sorcerer's Place SPfixpack and try if that helps your problem.
It should resolve a bug when you break Solaufein's casting animation.

But if SPfixpack can't help you, zip your saved game with the problem and mail it to me.

 

Hi Ok let me make it more clear.
Here it goes, i met Salaufein in the drow city and he asked me to meet him in the south part of the underdark so i went down south and i cant rember 100 percent bu ti think i missed talking to him and i jsut went to clear out the illithids lair and so i did and when i got out I saw him and now when i want to speak to him nothing happens he just tells me the same thing over and over again "I have no tiem for idle chatter"

P.S I cant find the spfix on the sorcerers palace can u paste the link here and i will have emailed the saves to u by tonight

 

I've received your game!
Tried it, tested it and found a bug in that area part of SPfixpack.
Please, forgive me on that one, at a time I made the fix for that area, I didn't have the saved game to experiment on. So thank you for providing me one!

Anyway, you have the "break animation" bug so I've mailed you the file that fixes it.
Copy it in override folder, restart the game and go talk to Solaufein again. AND DON'T MOVE before the casting animation is over!

The correction of SPfixpack will be submitted to Tal.
