I can't get BG2 to work properly with Win XP. I have the latest patch, but I'm still missing mission critical dialogue like upon finishing the De'Arnise Keep, Nalia doesn't offer the keep, and I AM a fighter. She also doesn't have the little whinge when we kill TorGal. AND none of the romance dialogues are appearing.

Look, I'm not sure how's that possible, please do zip your saved game and mail it to me.
I'll check all three things you've said.

    Hi

Definately don't think it's a problem with XP, that's what i'm running on and it runs just as well as it did with '98 second edition, and that's with the patch. However i did have problems when i added Throne Of Bhall, so i just re-installed without it and it's working fine.

Extremist, I'll mail you my savegame if it does the same thing in a non-cheating game. I've never HAD any problems with cheating, but then again...

It cannot be cheating because I used the summon object cheat twice:evil: and some other cheats and my game is still working perfectly

Also, Imoen doesn't do any of the things she should when in Irenicus's Dungeon. I'm sending you the file, Extremist.

Addition: Ok, this is just plain stupid now! I uninstalled and reinstalled it, and the problem is still bloody there! Any help, please?!

[IMG] Ok, after sweating over it I couldn't believe myself. You have the same problem I've detected already in someone's saved game, but I don't know how it occurs. And it has nothing to do with windows.
The same problem as you have is described here: http://www.sorcerers.net/community/threads/jaheira-romance-problem.5945/

Something has replaced original scripts on all NPCs (ok, not quite all, but Jaheira and Viccy and...) with the script called TEMPLATE. This TEMPLATE script is not BG2 script and I suspect you have some mod installed.
And there is no way to escape that mod without clean install (that means uninstallation and deleting every single remained file in override folder, then installation again). Even then, I'm not sure your game will be restored. But it's worth of try.

Anyway, if you can detect the source that busted your game totally, please do post about it so we may warn the community on side effects of that mod or whatever that causes it.

[IMG] So, delete everything out of the Override directory? I can handle that. *Kicks whoever made whatever he downloaded to screw his precious BG2*

Not everything. There are original files also there. Removal needs only 3rd party stuff. Most of that would be all files that are not made in year 2000.

All is well now. I believe it was the HappyGroup mod I downloaded from this very site. It makes it so that there's no internal conflict with the party, but I guess it must have stuffed the templates. Ahh well, it's good now.
