Since I decided to start playing BGEE, I decided to rehash my old thread from over 10 years ago. Cudos to the total roll at the bottom, that makes things a hell of a lot easier! So far for my paladin I got a smack in the face, I've always thought a 99 was highest because of the engine going over 3 digits. Since then I've seen a 102 pass bye in a speed roll rush and I settled on a 100 one night with a 18/crappy str but I ventured on and got a 98 with a 18/00 str. You would think that would have satisfied me but no! I'm going for 3 digits again, Later Haters.

High rolls aren't all that uncommon anymore, now that theres an AutoHotkey script to do the rolling for you (at least for the enhanced edition.)
Using it i've found it's pretty easy to roll into the 98-100 range, with only 20-30 minutes spent of the program rolling for you.
Technically it should be possible to roll a 108 total, but the highest i've ever seen was a 106 - the highest I've rolled myself has been 103.

IIRC I got 102 myself. As you'll notice, everything in the EEs seems (and likely is)... easier.

I don't think it's so much a case of it being easier to roll high stats, as the fact that an automated program doing the work is able to perform more rolls then a human in the same time span.

Statistically, it's possible to roll all 18s, but the chance of it happening is about .000000000001%.

Also, if you're just gonna roll until you're satisfied anyway, you might as well press Ctrl+8 and call it a day. There is literally no difference.

Well, CTRL+8 does give you 18/100 strength, even if you are not normally able to get percentile strength.

The point is to reduce your stats to your desired result after pressing Ctrl+8. Rolling is moot if you're gonna roll until you reach an arbitrary number anyway.

I've managed a 96 roll in the original BG2, but nowadays I just give myself somewhere between 92-94 in SK. Rerolling is just a waste of time. Though perhaps not so much in the EE versions.

You're not telling me anything i don't know already. the fact remains that if you use the ctrl+8 cheat, you will get 18/100 strength even on classes that cannot get percentile strength, unless you choose to go with 17 or less strength.
It's all semantics anyway - it doesn't really matter what your stat scores are or how you get there, but if some people want to keep re-rolling, by hand or with a script to get the best 'legitimate' score they can get for the bragging rights, i don't really see an issue with it.

There are no bragging rights behind random functions, unless you consider being a lucky bastard worth bragging about. It's a competition about who can abuse the rand() function the most.

There's no issue if people wanna waste their time, there's just nothing "legitimate" about rerolling dice indefinitely. It's stupid and that's all it is. :shake:

I ended up grabbing a little autoroller program and using that. I would assume this makes me a heathen of some sort. Can't argue with those rolls, though.

Its amazing that people have rolls higher than 93. I rolled a 93 the highest roll I ever got and mostly this was because I was making a Inquisitor and some of those stats are high. Of course I don't have the patience to roll for hours looking for the elusive 98+ but maybe one of these days I will get an autoroller program to see if I can get a high 90 score or even a 100. But then again I prefer to play a more ordinary adventurer thrown into an extraordinary situation rather than uber adventurer so having a high roll would be amazing but I'd probably never use the character.

Rolling over 90 isn't all too hard if you can click at the speed an autoroller program can.
I mean, i could do it manually, but i'd inevitably end up missing that really good roll, or not stopping in time and click reroll before i could store it.

That said, as keneth mentioned before - if you want a specific value, you might as well use the ctrl + f8 cheat or edit your stats using EEkeeper.
