    Does anybody remember a game on prodigy in 1991 or so? Prodigy was something similar to looking on the web but it was only for people who subscribed (dial up of course) to prodigy. I remember this fantasy role playing game text game I discovered just looking around prodigy. There were choices you made in the adventure and you were solving some puzzles and acquiring magic items and things. I ask because it was a cool game and it would be nostalgic to try and find it.

    @claudius
    Instead of necroing this for a total derail (I admit we did kinda derail it), you might want to repost this request in The Playground forum, which is where it belongs instead of hijacking and necroing a thread in the Icewind Dale II forum.

    As for your request, sorry, I can't help you. I wouldn't get a modem until Prodigy was dead in 1997, and I only got to try it briefly twice at somebody else's house.

    @SlickRCBD sorry putting the question in the wrong place in the forum and thanks for the move @Taluntain.

    I think I was 13 or so when my family got prodigy. My Dad was into computers and did some programming for databases in the school system he worked for. So I got a chance to test out prodigy and our computer a bit. I remember: this fantasy text rpg that I'm mentioning, a DnD arena world where players and dungeon masters had duals in the arena and some adventures, and finally I remember mining forums of teen agers talking about stuff. It was really interesting to me but unfortunately playing in the bulletin board DnD area I ended up wracking up too much phone bill and my privileges on prodigy were greatly reduced from that point.

    Sad thing is, other games had automaps long before Prodigy.
    Bard's Tale, Might and Magic II, King's Bounty, I think Magic Candle (need to boot that up on an emulator, I don't think I've played since the 1990's and my Apple IIGS is in mothballs. At least a cracked disk image is easily obtained from ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/Apple_II ), Dragon Wars, and others.
    Still, that was very much the era of graph paper maps. Although a lot of the Sierra games seemed to need something more resembling a concept map than a grid map.
