Hopefully. But it isn't like his team wasn't throwing the idea out there of firing generals until he could find 1 willing to violate the law and/or US Constitution.

I don't think he can pardon himself, but he could find some excuse for JD Vance to take over temporarily, issue a pardon, then let Trump back.

As far as I know, there's nothing that says that he can't pardon himself. I assume the ultimate decision would fall upon the Supreme Court, which is right-owned anyway. Someone with more legal expertise could probably chime in with more weight here. I do think that he can't make any state charges go away since his powers only extend to federal matters, but he doesn't really have to care about those anyway. Any charges that haven't yet reached a conviction will likely be swept under the rug now though.

Today's headline is that the judge is suspending sentencing him for the time being.
This is the worst sort of favoritism. Nobody should be above the law. Supposedly his lawyers need time to prepare in light of the election.
    BULLSHIT!
They had since this summer to prepare, and should have prepared arguments for which every way the election went.
What other convicts get to put off their sentencing because it's inconvenient for their political aspirations?
What is the judge thinking going along with it?
Even if the timing does smell of politics being behind it, he was convicted and he should be making an example that no man is above the law in this country, not letting him have a suspended sentence until after his term in office.
Has anyone else ever had their sentencing delayed like this?

Slick, I understand the outrage. But no one should exactly be surprised once the election results were final. And I agree in principle.
