Have anybody seen the bug where the game throw you out in windows without ending and the only thing you can do is ctrl-alt-del? It has happened on two occasions for me the first was in the planar sphere when i was going in to battle Lavok i thought it was because i had downloaded some custom items so i deleted the custom stuff and tried to do some other stuff before i went to Lavok. I worked but now i cant get to the docks district i havetn done anything special in this game no custom item or anything it is a fair game. First i tried to go to the docks from Nalias keep it didnt work then i tried to go the docks from the gate district didnt work either i have also tried from waukeens promenade with the same reslut it is quite annoying to be just thrown out of the game when i try to go somewhere.
do anybody have any suggestions,help or hints?
I have the official patch but it isnt very good it has missed a whole bunch of bugs (Nisruu anyone?)

 

normal bug that exists in most games, should be solved if you go and kill a monster, any monster

 

Well i have been attacked by bandits and i still cant get to the dock ditrict

 

You may have to reinstall the game entirely and hope your save game files aren't ruined because of the custom items.

 

Next time don't cheat. God is waching all of us! You should have had more faith and not installed the custom items.

 

I've had a similar problem, where a zone fails to load once, and I get locked out of it from then on. I am playing a completely un-modified game, other than the official patch. It first occured where i couldn't get into the docks anymore after paying the money for imoen, but after about 6 re-installs I got passed that.
Now, it can happen going into any zone. The game starts to load, and then just stops halfway through. I am then un-able to load that zone until I re-install. Deleting the Cache data, temp, and temp-save stuff doesn't seem to help at all.
I have to say that they did a piss-poor job of play testing this game. I played BGI all the way through without a single crash, and never had to re-install it or anything. I installed it and played it for 80 hours and took it off my machine and....well, you get the idea. It worked. With BGII I've had the aforementioned problem, as well as wierd stuff like the game crashing when I look at the overhead map in certian zone, freezing when I approach certian NPC's and giving me a "CHdat error line 250" message or something like that....I've disabled AGP 2 suport, up-dated my Bios, Dis-abled read ahead on my CD rom, tried playing in 2d mode, And in the end I'm simply convinced that Bio-ware must have hired Verants quality control manager (the people who brought you evercrash)
If any thing other than a software title performed this poorly, I'd be able to get my 49.99 back.
The worst thing is that I have loved all three of these titles I have played (BGI TOSC BGII). But I don't think anyone with a system that meets the recomended requirements should EVER have to mess with a program file in the first place. It's a game, not a tutorial in becoming a Tech support worker.
And as for all the problems with VIA mother boards *I* am expected to fix....they are damn common boards. Didn't they beta test this thing?
Also, their refusal to support their product is beyond disgusting. I shouldn't have to download player made patches to resolve Bugs (I greatly appreciate the efforts of those who have the knowledge to try to fix these bugs, and appreciate even more the effort they go to to share the fixes, I'm just a little sketchy about using them)
They havent issued a new patch in over 6 months despite all the gameplay/tech bugs that have been brought to their attention.

 

So my only option is to reinstall? Not good but as it seems to be my only option.
Do you save your save games automatically or do you have to move them by your self?
But it is weird cause i have played this game ALOT ive been through it 3 times and halfway 5-6 times and this have only happened twice and the first time i solved without having to reinstall.
