[IMG] Or not, who knows. Anyway, I vaguely remember playing BG1, and I seem to recall a part where you go through a map that's absolutely bursting with spiders. In the middle of the map is a cave with an extremely large women in it who says she's been cursed by a mage because she caused harm to his lady fair because she (the cursed lady) was in love with the mage. And now she hates him, blah blah.....Now, is it just me, or was the mage's name Jon Irenicus? I could have SWORN that it was. I combed the board to see if anyone else had written this, and since I couldn't find it anywhere, either it's really old news, or I'm just really crazy. Anyway, if anyone knows, let me know ~^_^~ Thanks!!

    [IMG] That's quite interesting...

I know that characters often span different stories, but this would be a very nice work-in with Baldur's Gate I.

The level you speak of is located in the wilderness (I think on the way to the lighthouse). This is the creature you obtain the Spider's Bane sword from - quite a powerful weapon.

I'll check - I still have my BG saved-games archived.

Although I can't confirm on that simply because I didn't play BG, that is a cool observation.

BTW, welcome to the boards dragonjewel13.

[IMG] She calls him Jon Icarus there, from what I can remember. But yes, many people have spotted the resemblance.

Icarus! I knew it was something like that! I knew it...
Thank you too, I feel a lot better now; I don't have my copy of BG to play and find out, so it was really bugging me.

That's such a tease! They even spelled Jon the same, a very uncommon spelling you might add. It would've been cool, but he's so ugly. I wonder if he was an particularly ugly elf, or if the evil transferall disfigured him so bad.

I looked into it and the name is indeed Jon Irenicus. It kind of shows that Black Isle had plans for a sequel,or at least they used that name for the villain of the second game.

This doesn't fare well... Someone has a claim opposite that of the great Taluntain. There will be death. (lol). And a nod goes out to anyone who caught the harvester robot reference in there.

[IMG] No, just correction. As usual. This is the actual quote from the game. (Thanks Dudette!)
