Final Save and NPC Quests

    [​IMG] Coming to the end of my second time through now and a thought occured to me. When you beat Big Bad Jon it saves as Final Save (as it did in BG1). If I complete a second time will it overwrite this? make Final Save 2?

    Secondly is there anywhere and BOY have I looked that details the NPC quests? I have surfed a lot and found nothing. Using thjis boards search i found a few things but still not much. Anyone know?

    [​IMG] The filename of the savegame is like that: "savegame (No.)xxxxxxx <filename>" so you can give the savegames all the same name as long as you have free hard disc space ;)

    This is NOT the case with finalsave, quicksave and autosaves for they use the numbers 0000001, 0000002 and 0000003 as standard settings - so you need to make a backup.

    As for NPC quests I unfortunately can´t help.

    What do u mean by NPC quests? If u r talking about quests like Keldorn and his wife, or Nalia and her keep, or Anomen and his father, then yes there's quite a few sites that give all the details about them. Try going to different sites that offer walkthroughs and chances are there are also NPC quests... I have seen them more than one time, so I don't know why u can't find them...Use the links to walthroughs from Sorcerer's place as a start.

    Yes I mean like keldorn an wife, Jahiera and harpers etc.

    Also I have looked through walkthroughs but have not seen a definative list of quests related to NPC's and what occurs. Any help would be appreciated.

    I would suggest surfing to several sites, and looking for your own list. Probably different sites with walkthroughs by different authors might shed light on different viewpoints. I know I have beaten the game and am going back through combing the alleyways to find snippets of adventure. I'm still looking for the murderer in the bridge district. If any know of him let me know. I'm currently trying to kill the rogue stone lich. He's kicked my ass six or seven times now {him and his Elder Orb, and big bag o' vampires...ychhhh} :cool:

    I think it actually pretty hard to find everything quickly.

    Look for Complete Baldur's Gate 2 FAQ & Walkthrough. It also has full solutions to some NPC subquests. But AFAIK, no walkthrough out there has complete solutions to all NPC subquests, so asking here if you're stuck is your best option.

    If you checked out Sorcerer's Place you'd learn that finding everything quickly is a sort of motto for the site... ;)

    Heh. Max_Faith, don't mind Tal. He just gets a bit frustrated sometimes, when people fail to notice his diligent work. :D (Cranky old sorcerer...)

    Actually, lots of people come straight to the boards looking for answers, when he's got SO much stuff in the games section. Kind of annoying that it gets overlooked so often, I guess...

    Also, I never noticed you comparing Sorcerer's Place to any other site, so I'm wondering what that was all about.
    And "eliciting such a response"? That sounds like I insulted you somewhere in my post. I for the life of me can't imagine where.

    I was just pointing out the obvious, like many times before. Excuse ME if you think I should have kept my mouth shut and let this post continue for another 20 messages before someone mentioned that the solution to the problem can be found on the same site you are currently at.

    I don't know, but this counter-reaction from Max_Faith really surprised me.

    Just to get back to the topic in hand...

    Yep read the walkthorughs on this site, there's a wide choice and they're all great. As to being able to identify specific NPC quests there is a site that lists them (and class specific quests)individually. at:http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/quests.php

    Be warned though, their lists are full of spoilers and miss out importnat detail and tend to dumb things down. My avice - stay with the Sorceror.

    As to Max_Faith question about the murderer in the Bridge District - talk to the begger, the small boy (can't rememeber the names) and the 'woman of negotiable affection (Rose)' by the pub. they will give you some clues to follow up. With these you will be able to confront the suspect - any more would be a spoiler.

    Sorry Tal but as I said I have looked at the Sorc site and surfed but could not find a full list. That was the whole point. Of ourse SPlace was the FIRST place that I looked but as with the others I surfed it only had snippets. All that i was hoping for was that I could save myself several hours un-neccesary surfing if someon on the board knew.

    Well did you check that walkthru I suggested then?
    I'm quite sure it has the info you need. If not, just ask here. It's not like NPC subquests are that complicated that you'd need a walkthru anyway.
