Help With Dimension Door

I need help! I was bored so I used shadow Keeper to fool around. I got this spell called Dimensional Door. I don't know how to use it. I think this spell is pretty cool. If any one knows how can u teach me?

Yes that spell is in BG2... Hidden!

Didn't you play BG1? That spell was in that game. They left out the spell scroll item in BG2 so you can't learn it unless you use an tool to either make a spell scroll item (like I did), or just give yourself the spell. I didn't try the latter so I'm not sure you can just do that with SK.

The spell lets you warp from where you are to any place you can see on the map. It has to be a place that you can normally go to and has been uncovered from the "fog". I tried warping back into the fighting pit in the Copper Coronet after Mazzy killed Gorf to get his club, but the game wouldn't let me.

Still wondering if he had a magic club or not...

 

Does it use the old BG1 animation or the new one that looks like the spell Shadow Door?

 

Did you try using it in one of those Forests in Chapter 6? You know, the one with mountains preventing accessibility to the entire northwest part of the map? (So use Farsight and Dimension Door)

 

The animation:
It made the circle with the star in the air just like when Irenicus warps away in the opening sequence just before Imoen sets you free.

I'm only in Chapter 3 yet. I had to start over due to major bugging. I downloaded the patch after I started playing and it didn't help my saved games. I have 2 major things to do before heading off to SpellHold. Cult of Unseeing Eye and Trademeet/Druid quest. And maybe another Paladin quest after I report back from the Umar hills. I was holding off going to Trademeet until the 10 day point so I can do Mazzy's quest and kill two hobbits...err...birds with one stone. I'll do the Cult tonight...

A bug trapped mazzy in the pit with gorf's body, he just has a club, not magical at all.

 

Yes I know what the spell do. All I just dont know is how to use it. rite now Im using the stupid crtl+j cheat ( which I dont really like ) and no I havent played BG1 U_U.

Well I tried using Dimension door at a friends place, and it takes you to a chamber filled with other dimansion doors that lead to different areas of the game.

 

Hmm, that isn't the same spell then. This one just teleports the casting character to a target that you designate a short distance away.

If you want to use it, I'll have a working one posted on the net within a few days. I've already got the spell, but I want more in the package.

 

No, that's a cheat I belive you are describing.

The spell works exactly like BG1 but the animation is a little different.

All you have to do is extract the spell scroll item from BG1 (WinBiff), rename the file ("SCRL1V" is taken by Stoneskin in BG2, I used "SCRLDD"), and place it in the BG2 override file. Then warp it. You can learn the spell in your spellbook, or use the scrolls directly in the item slot. It works fine. The spell itself is already in the game files.

As for the spell, it's cool to look at but not that useful, can usually walk faster to the place you're trying to go. And you can't use Farsight with it to teleport anywhere on the map.

I know. That kind of blows! At least the spell is cool. Since Im pure sorcerer-yeah sorcerer rulez all- Im more of the spell type person. Instead Of walking. U know what i mean
