anomen is a real pain sometimes

Wonder if the devs made him after a real person or let their creativity loose.

 

Seriously though...what I think ACTUALLY happened was that they tried to make a self-confident, handsome, righteous individual...and the guys making him were just that...guys. They'd have absolutely no idea about how to make a romance for chicks...I suppose.

Heh...its kinda sad actually.

 

If only he had Valygar's voice set. Or even Haer'Dalis'. Whenever I click on him I cringe.

He also is a hell of a boor. He gets thrashed by goblins and talks of defeating armies. And will never agree that the female PC could be stronger than him.
I am pretty sure I can point out a couple dozen of such guys from my dad's generation. Except for the plate mail ofcourse.

 

Well, the plate mail is cool, of course.

But it's difficult to draw a bow, while wearing it (then again, Anomen can't use a bow anyway, because of his class. And *I* want to do the archery. In the game, as in real life.)

If Anomen could use a bow, that would be cool. Archery is my life (that means I am not living recently).

 

You meet enough jerks in real life. You try to evade it by playing a cool CRPG... and here's Anomen! Thanks for nothing, Bioware!

Now I will have to play this game to see what is going on here. I vaguely remember in the beginning, telling an NPC to use his rage to bend his cage bars, then the guy joined up with me. Liked to talk alot of crap. Same character?

 

No netdiver, that is a different guy and is actually a lot funnier.
Anomen is the jerk you find in Copper Coronet.

He was just knighted, and seems to have gotten even more pompus, if that indeed is possible.
Now his Wis is red numbered. Why couldn't they flag it as an original charecter stat, ie in white.

 

Because it went up. Hence, being modified, it is red.

 

You know, on the first run I did take him along, and I even thought he is an honorable man of courage

Why ? Because that time my English is horrible

 

Of all the NPC's in BGII he is the only one I really, really, really do not like. I think Chev is correct about the designers having a few drinks when they came up with him. Actually more than a few and not beer but hard stuff. Probably dead drunk and bored to boot.

Wish we could have a poll to find out how many women would like to romance him. No way to guarantee that only women would vote. Could put in a choice for men to non-vote so they could see poll results but it would still be honor system.
