If BG2 was ment for solo play, they probably wouldn't include party member NPCs. It's not about their classes, it's about fun from their comments.

I'll put in a good word for the chars I know about. Minsc and Valygar, great guys. Nalia, Imoen, and Aerie a great trio. Spells flying left and right. But its all about who you like.

I've not played a paladin party but I think a good one (if you're into this sort of thing) would be Keldorn, Anomen, Mazzy, Aerie, and two spots to play around with.
    Well it's up to you.

if your going all "good"/ paladin support i agree, keldorn, Nalia (can be done), mazzy, aerie, anomen. and your char = 6 that way you have 2 spell casters 2 healers, and 4 possible attackers.

[IMG] Since you're an Inquisitor - congrats on a choosing the best Paladin kit! - I think You could do without Keldorn.

    * Aerie (Cle/Mag) seems like a natural partner for you.
Her great spell selection will help alot. You can get her starting low HP's up in many different ways later.

    * Mazzy (Fig) is a LG character that fits well in Your party.
Excellent with the Short Bow which complements you well if you choose 2H swords yourself.

    * Anomen (Fig-dual to-Cle) can be annoying but is ok.
Consider being the guidance he so desperately needs to choose the right path.

    * Nalia (Thi-dual to-Mag) is also good.
She will give your party some thief abilities and quite good magic skills.

Keep the sixth party slot open for Imoen and until she returns You can take in characters temporarily to do their quests.

    Have fun! :)

I don't doubt those are good choices and I don't want to steer you wrong. Just keep in mind you don't have a thief or a mage (besides Aerie). Now Aerie is good being both a mage and cleric but I am at Chapter 6 in my game and Aerie is the lowest of my characters because she is split between two classes, meaning a lack of higher level spells.
Nalia could give you mage and thief abilities, something to think about. Nalia isn't the best thief, but wisely used potions of mastery thievery and the mage spell "Knock" should help when Nalia is struggling. I've had Aerie and Nalia since the beginning, Aerie is a level 13 Mage, 14 Cleric while Nalia is soon to be a level 18 Mage. Just something to think about. I know its a tough call, they all seem so good.

Oh yeah I have the experience cap remover, that's why Nalia is getting up to 18.

That's a great party. Don't forget that Valygar doesn't have to be just "a bow and arrow boy" he can be a "katana/spear/axe man" too :D

Repeat after me: Kensai, Kensai, Kensai, Kensai!!!
    Human, and don't dual class!
That should please all the roleplayers out there.

Take Keldorn along though, he's obscenely powerful with Carsomyr.

I would kick Keldorn out and improve Anomen in hammers for Crom Faeyr.

Valygar as a marksman? That would be a waste of talents, with his family katana, celestial furry and three starrs in dual wield he can be an exelent front line fighter (especialy if you give him boots of speed).

He kills most of foes in my party (27%).
