Man I just drag these things around with me everywhere. I have one character completely filled with vials and I'm starting on another. They sound good, I mean, who wouldn't want Stone Giant Strength?
Thing is, they just sit there. Sure I'll have one of the magic users sip one in order to learn more spells, and maybe I used a health potion. That Invisibility one sound cool, and Invulnerability? That one has got to leave a mark.

Thing is, they just sit there. Taking up space.

Anyone else got this problem? Is there a box or sack for carrying these things around?

If not, I'll be holding a Potion Sale....

Heh, same here. And no, there's no container for them in BG2. There is a potion bag in HoW though. Pretty neat.

Sure you can, but perhaps toast hasn't gotten far enough to find it yet...

[IMG] I know what you mean Toast! I generally keep all the potions that I think may come in handy for that really tough fight...But in general, the only potions I use regularly is Master Thieving, Heroism, the Strength's, Healing, and some of the magic shielding/protection potions.

I sell the rest. Because most of the time, my party's spells and weapons seem to be enough for any fight...But then again, I just entered the Underdark, so i don't know what's ahead of me...

[IMG] Actually potions are not that important except for maybe the potion of extra healing

I rarely think to use potions or scrolls (or wands with limited charges) - just never occurs to me in the heat of battle, and I'm always afraid I'll use one and then really, really need it later - so I never use them. Aerie's got scrolls coming out of her ass (three scrollcases full, and a barrel full), and I have a barrel full of potions hidden somewhere. Useless, in a way.

[IMG] You're all terrible hoarders :p, and so am I. I really have to force myself to use up all that stuff. In BGI I even managed to:
After the microfight with S. at the castle, I fought myself through the mace to his little chapel without sleeping (I really thought I was right behind him and made all the haste I could). So I used allmost all my drinks, special arrows and bolts, staffs and scrolls (at least those 20% I had with me and not stacked away in some barrel).

They should add a lepreshaun (or whatever the spelling is) to rob you clean every now and then, or have bottles break and scrolls burn during fights to make keep you from hoarding so much stuff.

I make it just like Bel. Use the nice stuff like masterthievery/ intelligence & wisdom-boosting stuff (you simply can´t be too wise or clever)/ haste/ strengths/ healing and magic protection and sell the rest for good money to get SOME REAL WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION TO SLAUGHTER ALL MY ENEMIES

never have this problem, because i use all the potions i find or buy. they are there for a reason, and all potions can be useful, except for the ones with nasty side affects. too bad that didn't use potion bags in this game. they would come in very handy.

I do have the Bag of Holding, but I hate filling it up with stuff like that.. arrows and bolts, etc. That bag is not infinite. I haven't counted, but it must hold under 100 things.

I guess I'll try to use 'em, but at this point it seems like an unfair advantage, as I'm already pretty deadly. (lvl 19monk)

I decided to save them for later, but I found out that later you really don't need them :( The only ones I use consistently are the potions of extra healing, and for a while there I was using the strength potions in the tough fights. The potions that raise inteligence or wisdom are usefull, but not something that needs to be carries. I also have one character lugging around potions:fortitude, strength, defense, invulnerablitily, heroism, invisibility. And I never use them, same for wands and for the most part item special abilities. I don't think I have used flame strike one time from the ring of fire control. I really need to manage my equipment better :D

It's just that the game is set up to acomodate so many different ways of playing. Take all those bolts for instance. I had Nalia learn crossbow 'cause there were so many lying around, but I guess they're really there for Keldorn... And all those wands are for soloing non-magic users...

Those bolts are there primarily for Jan I think. While I had him in my party he literally bathed in them, there's so many around.

besieds theivery and healing the best potion is the ones that bring up , temporarily, (cant spell) your constitution. It gives you bonus to your hit points when you level up. Just before you click a level up, try the potion, especially on mages with low hp. :)
