Is it worth it? i used SOME ;) hax, and i got crom faeyr and that kick ass katana, celestrial fury i believe, in minsc's hands...but i need a decent healer, and Aerie isnt doing a good enuf job. But i have another question..would there be conflicts between my characters(like having to kick someone out, or leaving, or attacking each other between my party)

    MY party:

    Me, monk, lawful neutral
    Keldorn, inquis, lawful good
    valygar, stalker, neutral good
    Aerie, cleric/mage lawful good
    Nalia, mage/thief, lawful good.

It seems to me like a lot of good...im not too sure what to do, i like aerie, but i need nalia because shes the only decent thief im going willing to get (besides imoen..shes annoying though =/)

So, give me some opinions and options please...thanks.

Viconia is definitely a great healer but she doesn't quite fit with your good party. Perhaps you should take Anomen. Sure, he's a pompous idiot, but he can gib liches at higher levels :)

You need not cheat to get the Celestial Fury as it is easily obtainable in Chapter 2. One of the better fights, actually. As for the Crom Faeyr, you may want to put it away as it makes the game just a teensy bit too easy. Your call.

As for thieves, Jan is a better thief than Nalia and a better mage. Ditto for Imoen. Get rid of Nalia.

You already have a paladin and a cleric so I would say you have enough healing. So go for Minsc the Tank, give him two weapon fighting and then he kicks ass with Crom Faeyr

    You're out of your mind!

First, Minsc is really one of best tanks in the game.
Second, Viccy is definetly the best cleric NPC in the game.
This means you definetly should keep them both.

But then you'll ask me who to kick out. The answer is easy actually: Keldorn.
One moment in the game, Keldorn will attack Viccy just because she's a drow. Do you need racists in your party with "lawful good" disguise?
Carsomyr? Sell it. For the money you get buy Staff of Rhynn at Adventurer's Mart and go nail Kangaxx's ass! ;)

    Hi,

A related question regarding Viconia. Is it only Keldorn who she has problems with or are some of the other good alignment characters going to give her grief?

Also, what race do you have to be to romance her? I read that elves are out right?

I am considering romancing her with a undead hunter (human), along the lines of my lawful good alignment character trying to convert poor Viconia to a non evil alignment, save her soul, a long term project if you like, from start of SOA through to TOB. Would fit in nicely with the story.

    Cheers,

    WittyNewt.

About problem with Viccy vs other NPCs... Can't remember actually. But that is not so important, if that happens you just pull out your nice scroll of "Maze" and cast it on the one who attacks Viccy (don't cast it on Viccy - she is spell resistant). The NPC will be mazed for a time and when he returns if Viccy is not in his sight the fight will stop.

The restrictions on romances come only from gender and race. No homosexual romances - that's gender restriction. Racial issues for Viccy say that she will romace only Humans, Halfelves and Halflings.
Class don't affect any of romances. Too high reputation will make Viccy to leave the party - and that will kill the romance too.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the advice.
Nice use of maze, never considered using it on a party member, good tip.
Managing the rep to below 18 and still play as a lawful good character will be a bit of a pain, but if I leave some chapter 2 quests until chapter 6 and use the slayer change it should be doable.

    Cheers,

The other person Viconia can have problems with is Valygar, but it's obscure. There's this one prostitute around somewhere who, if you talk to her, Viconia will start insulting Valygar's manhood till he attacks her. But as Extremist says, you can get out of that.

You probably don't want both Keldorn and Viconia in your party. If you don't have Viconia, there's nothing wrong with Keldorn per se. Some people don't like him at all, but that's true of any NPC and you can make up your own mind as to who you personally like or don't like. I personally would get rid of Nalia because her personality really annoys me and she never was very useful for me. But some people like her. *shrug*

Anyway, if you're going to have Viconia, you probably do not want Keldorn. Viconia is a very poor frontline fighter, though, so you may be disappointed if you swap her in for Minsc or Keldorn. Anomen and Jaheira, though not as good clerics as Viconia, are much more kickass warriors, and would serve you well as tanks in either of those gentlemen's steads while still providing some extra healing and spellcasting.

Actualy FoolioBuddumz, Nalia is the worst theif in the game. She doesnt even have enough skills to get through her own home. I would take either Jan or Yoshimo and then replace him in spellhold with Imoen. She is good enough to get you through the rest of SoA but I dont know about ToB. I used Jan for that.

    No, you keep the keep.

  13. One other thing about having Viconia and Keldorn in the same party. At higher levels, evil clerics can turn undead as well as paladins IIRC, so they won't be a good combination. But if you hardly use turn undead like me I think having them together is no prob.

    [IMG] Hi,

About turning undead. Until a few days ago I was the same and never really made use of it.
However, I was in chapter 8 and at one point there you are rushed by loads of shadows, fiends of various sorts etc from all sides. I turned on Aeries turn undead and 10 seconds later pop, they were all dead it was great to see, gibbs flying everywhere and stacks of xp clocking up.
Of course, the cleric in question needs a decent level to kill with turn undead.
I am going to try it with Amomen in chapter 3 in the vampire section in my second party and see how well he gets on. I'll have to look through my PNP manual to see what level is needed to kill vamps.
I wonder if you can use sanctuary with it....

I only had Viccy and Keldorn in my party for about 10 mins before Keldorn decided he wanted to kill her, my first time through. Picked her up to help out in chapter 6 graveyard because I was short of one party member and keldorn made his feelings known straight after the first fight.

    Cheers,

    WittyNewt

Depending on the level of the cleric and the undead, an undead will (if it fails a save) be forced to retreat from the cleric, who may do nothing except move. If the cleric is a high level compared with the undead will be forced to retreat with no save; if the cleric is even higher level then the undead will be destroyed. For an evil cleric the description is the same except they do not destroy undead but control them. The check is made once per round.

[IMG] Actually Viccy doesn't get on with Korgan... she thinks he smells and stuff... doesn't cause a problem but it's funny. I also recall that Cernd finds her repugnant (she tries to pull him).
