Hey, just wondering if you have a favorite weapon that you loved to use throughout the game.

3 of them actually, that were the allround kit for my halfling cavalier:
    • Namarra +2, 1d8+4 damage was my best allround weapon, excelent damage and the silence is handy to
    • Flamethongue +1, +4 vs undead was my weapon of choice vs. liches, vampires and cadavrous undead
    • Flail of the Ages +3, 1d6+4 and elemental damage plus slow effect was my fav mage-slaying weapon and was very effective vs. golems, trolls and skelettons
I never needed any other weapons and my first halfling cavalier got them early and used them through the whole game.

I like Tasheron's Bow, the Bow of Gesen, the boomerang dagger, and basically any other missle weapon that doesn't require ammunition because I am extraordinarily lazy and I don't like purchasing/hauling around ammo.

I like the wand of monster summoning. Just sit back, relax, and whatch your enemies get smashed to pieces!

Flail of ages is good as well

    I love to see Undeads.
I prefer to see them dying by the blaze of glory from the shimmering steel of Daystar!

[IMG] Jhor the Bleeder has got to be one of the best general slaughtering tools in the game. Bastard swords rule all.

Anyone ever use Axes or Halberds? I have never really seen any posts on these weapons and no seems to think very highly of them. Are they worth placing any points into?

    Yes they are. (IMHO)

Halberds like the Wave and Dragons Breath are worth a slot or three. Make sure your enemy attacks someone different then the wielder, since halberds are rather slow weapons.

There are enough freaky axes too:Azuredge and Frostreaver are nice for melee and there are some nice throwing axes too.

These weapons are not my favo's but I like them for a standard roleplaying. (What is a Dwarf without an Axe?)

I have a new favourite weapon, one i created my self, The Quickening.(dagger)

It sacrifices power for speed and precison and is only usable by plain and specialist mages and sorcerers, not dual or multi.

It does 2d2+1(hits as a +4 weapon) damage
    Thaco bonus of 4
It gives amazing 5 attacks per round
It has a speed factor of 0
    Weight of 2

Abilities- cast improved haste once per day.

Sure this weapon is overpowered, but not by much, as remember, this weapon is only usable by mages, and even with 4 thaco bonus are not going to have best accuracy, but 5 attacks easily makes up for this.

To make the weapon not over powered at all, I dualled weilded it with another dagger on a mage. You still have 5 attacks, but your thaco is reduced alot, and just looks cool.

Well, I have to say, Daystar and Celestial Fury take the cake.

The Dragon's breath +4. I like the long long range. It is almost possible to hit even if he has two characters in front of him!

And not a lot of SoA creatures are immune to all of

+ 1 point of cold damage
+ 1 point of fire damage
+ 1 point of electrical damage
+ 1 point of acid damage
+ 1 point of poison damage

And the 1/10 for critical hits. YUM YUM!
And of course my Dwarf beserker looks hilarious with it.

The weapon I found the most useful would be the Flail of Ages but my favourite would have to be that first +1 dagger you find in chapter 1. My god I loved that weapon and kept it the whole game through.

Yeah, the daystar is definitely a useful item when dealing with the undead. I also liked the flail of the ages.

My favorite the first time through was Celestial Fury. I screwed up in D'arnise and did not get the Flail of Ages. This time I got it, so I may change my mind.
